Solo camping day trip away from all civilization. 15 Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds, 1.5 tsps Syrian Rue seeds, a modest amount of smoked Cannabis, and three cartridges of compressed N2O. The entire experience took about eight hours until I was more or less able to pass off as functional in modern society, and residual effects lasted until that night. I can safely say that this experience was the most mind-blowing trip I have ever had, bar none. I think most people underestimate the significant power of HBWR seeds, and so this trip report will therefore be part explanation of how I had my first authentic Level 5 trip and "met God," and part defense of these psychedelic seeds. Feel free to skip over the following exposition and right to the gory details if you like. :P
I think the main reason why most people dislike LSA and the natural plants that contain this compound (morning glories, HBWR seeds, and ololiuqui) is that either they do not know how to prepare them properly, or they consider LSA to be vastly inferior to LSD due to its diminished visual aspect. Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds have been my favorite psychedelic since I first started taking them, primarily because they are 100% legal to own (but not to consume, hehe), but I too went through my fair share of experimentation with the best means to ingest. LSA-derivative plants are notorious for generating intense nausea, a horrible body load, and weak visuals--and it is my firm belief that some commonly propagated myths about preparation of the seeds are responsible for this. For instance, the oft-repeated myth that the hairs or the skin of the HBWR seeds contain poisonous cyanogenic glycosides that generate nausea, and that therefore one must scrape or file off the outer layer of them before consuming is completely false. Instead, essential fatty oils that permeate the entire seed are responsible for stomach irritation attributed to the seeds, and "prepping" the seeds in this fashion to avoid nausea is simply not necessary when a far simpler method completely eliminates it. In addition, most people advocate using a water extraction to get rid of the nausea-causing compounds. In my experience, this is not necessary. Ingestion of Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds by grinding in a coffee grinder and then putting into capsules has been the most effective method thus-far in my experimentation, and I have experienced absolutely ZERO nausea doing it this way. The seeds take roughly two hours to take effect this way, and the come-on is excruciatingly slow--in fact, you will probably be wondering if anything is happening at all until it finally hits. In terms of what the HBWR seeds feel like, I've found the best description is an Ecstasy-like euphoria at first, moving into a trippy mushroom stage, and finally into a sedated acid-like feel and incredible mind-fuck. The euphoria on this is incredible, BTW--nothing, not even san pedro or ecstasy has compared for me, and it comes in waves of greater and greater intensity. Long-lost memories have also been recalled during my trips, and nothing correlates emotion to thought to feeling better than these seeds. Ganja can be smoked anytime during the experience, and will definitely increase effects. A good starter dose to these magical seeds would probably be around 4 seeds to get used to their unique feel, and then 7-8 seeds to experience an authentic trip. The Hawaiian strain is said to have the largest LSA content percentage wise, and I've always gotten great results from those bought from iamshaman.com. I've taken up to 15 seeds at a time and noticed no vasoconstriction, nausea, or other ill effects that are said to be predominant with these seeds, and so I hypothesize that these effects were due to either improper water extractions or simply chewing the seeds themselves--a method that caused me increasing nausea time after time until I finally switched to the capsule method. The taste to these bad boys is rank, also... some rotten, molded plant would be the best taste comparison. To those expecting visuals, you might experience a few hallucinations with the addition of cannabis, but generally speaking HBWRs don't alter the visual cortex too much--instead, the mind-fuck is what you will most likely be floored by. LSA integrates with your mind so readily and forcibly that it might take you unawares (I've experienced harder mental trips from LSA than from shrooms). That being said, LSA has given me on occasion incredible tactile, olfactory, and taste hallucinations... it's amazing a lot more people don't use this drug on a regular basis. After about thirty or so trips from Hawaiian seeds on their own (addition of cannabis need not be mentioned :P), things were getting a tad boring, so I decided to up the ante a bit with the addition of the potent MAOI Syrian Rue. One and a half teaspoons I've found makes the minimum quantity necessary to exponentially increase the yield of psychedelics in combination with Rue... any more and mild nausea brought on by the MAOI is amplified and no significant boost in effect can be noticed. I've heard people eat the seeds whole spoonfuls at a time or combine in lemon juice shots; I never could stand the taste. Trust me: this is the most rancid taste you can imagine. I highly recommend grinding in a coffee grinder and encapsulating, just like in the HBWR seeds. The Rue takes about two hours to kick in, and will make you feel a bit dreamy and floaty with nice halos around lights appearing. I highly recommend smoking some ganja in the meantime to ease any mild nausea that may result from the Rue and prepare yourself for the full Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds + Syrian Rue (LSAhuasca) experience. Now let me warn you, this is a completely different ball-park from the seeds on their own. HBWR seeds without Rue will give you the mental effects of LSD without the visuals, but with a very sleepy, dreamy feel that makes it very easy to traverse the divide from cosmic transcendence into dreamtime slumber if you're not careful. The addition of Syrian Rue doesn't merely extend the duration of the experience, as you might expect (as MAOIs inhibit enzymes that break down the active psychedelic compounds), but instead takes it to a whole new level. Traditional native users of Rue, in tribes that use ayahuasca or other concoctions that contain it, describe it as a "teacher"--rather than merely boosting the psychedelic experience, it teaches you harsh lessons about life, the cosmos, and everything. If you try to ignore these lessons during the onslaught of mental edification that awaits you, you WILL get slapped around hard. Several friends who've been interested in the LSAhuasca combo have had severe anxiety attacks at the peak due to the sheer mental intensity, and these friends had been fairly experienced in high doses of acid and shrooms. The Rue also gives a much more "ancient" feel; similar to the sort of lessons that a shaman might pass on to his tribe through spiritual use of these psychedelic sacraments. LSAhuasca does give visuals, but they are of a far different caliber from traditional psychedelic visuals. Rather than cycling through of colors or the overlaying of patterns onto surfaces, LSAhuasca instead warps the dimensions of objects and instantly links emotions and long-lost memories to what you're looking at. The closed-eye experience would be far more productive than the open-eyed on this drug, I feel. This is a great tool for soul-searching and going DEEP inside. Now, I had taken LSAhuasca about three or four times prior to this camping trip. The first time I can honestly say that I was not ready for, as it involved a panic attack at the peak and significant mental effects lasting up to 14 hours after initial ingestion. After taking some time off from experimentation, and approaching the Rue combo with the respect that it deserves, I was able to have some amazing experiences after this--complete ego dissolution to the extent I had never had before on any psychedelic, and feeling that I had gained ineffable wisdom somehow from the experience. But, after three or so times, I felt it needed that last big PUSH to just break through from any semblance of reality that I had ever known. Solution: add Nitrous Oxide. Every experience I had read on combining LSD-type psychedelics with N2O said that the experience was like nothing else they had ever experienced; one experience report even names the "place" that he goes to on that combination "Gascid" as it was, quote, truly out of this world. Therefore, I decided to supplement my traditional dosage of 15 HBWR seeds and 1.5 tsps of Syrian Rue with three cartridges of compressed N2O taken at the peak. Now back to the trip. I pre-dosed with Syrian Rue as it takes two hours to activate, and left to commence the camping trip. I arrived at my designated spot, which was fairly secluded from nearby civilization, and was in the middle of a wash with a great view of the surrounding desert and sky. Jet airplanes fly over this location roughly every hour or so, which will play a note of key importance later on in my story. I set up a blanket to lie down on, and at first took an hour to get acclimated, peaceful, and in a respectful meditative state. Contrary to practically every single one of my other trips, I did not play music, so the only thing my ears could hear was silence and the occasional bird chirp muffled by the rustling of the wind. Truth be told--it was rather idyllic. I started smoking ganja to pass the time and ease the transition into full-on psychedelia--this blended very nicely with the rue; to the point where I was having an almost psychedelic trip from the weed itself. Upon reflection, I attribute this to the novel, respectful nature upon which I approached this plant. I was meticulous in packing, took time in inhalation, and paused after breath to meditate a little further; as opposed to my normal nature of toke for long as I can and repeat, which has given me some new insights on how to get the most out of weed. By the time two hours had gone, I was in a much higher mental state, and proceeded by dosing 15 Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds. The next three hours are a timeless blur. I cannot hope to make a chronological record of what happened subsequently, but here are a few of the most amazing things that happened over this mystical trip:
It is after about three hours that I am finally peaking (or so I thought). I now chose to ingest three cartridges of N2O. The dissociative peak from this was truly, without exaggeration, beyond words. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite cope with the sheer intensity of the experience, and so after experiencing the ultimate bliss of Nirvana I found myself puking my guts out into the earth. This was a very therapeutic release, and as I felt like I was purging all my sins I finally finished and rolled back over to experience what was the craziest phenomenon I ever have encountered.
After this experience faded, I found myself compelled to walk about. After but a few steps, I collapsed to the ground. All physical and mental energy had left me after the trial by fire that was this "religious" experience. On the walk back to my car, I had to stop at least three or four times to just think and ponder. Of course, this whole episode could just have been a sporadic firing of neurons in my temporal lobe, thereby inducing the same sort of mystical experience that was said to have happened to St. Paul when he had an epileptic seizure. However, I don't think this says anything denying the validity of the experience. Regardless of whether God is really out there or merely in our heads, this experience proved to me that everyone, given the right conditions, can experience God for themselves, and it is this amazing fact that still astounds me. My life since this camping trip has been fundamentally different in some way, I feel. Slight PTSD symptoms that had popped up after my first traumatic LSAhuasca experience have completely disappeared and I feel content and at peace with myself in a way that I never quite have before. What about your experiences? Have any of you had any similar experiences where you found yourself coming in contact with something so powerful, so eternal that was clearly NOT your own consciousness?
