Blue Cakes :(

I put 10 cakes inside of a fruiting chamber 1 week ago. The FC is at 100% humidity and I mist and fan multiple times a day. I just noticed a couple of days ago that 1 of the cakes started turning blue on the top. Gradually the rest of my cakes are beginning to have a blue tint on the top of them. Is this a sign of contamination? There was no blue on any of the cakes when they were dunked and rolled. Hopefully I can get pics up later tonight.

probably need to dunk them because they are drying out..
make sure your humidity is up (100%, really?)
mist your cakes directly to keep them moist (yeah tahoe.. you happy now? )
i would dunk them in the meantime.

I just dunked them again. I noticed that there is a little pinning at the base of the cakes, but none at the top. My FC is at 100% humidity, but I guess I'm not misting enough.

If the fruits are only at the bottom, and the tops of the cakes are blue, your humidity is not 100%. Calibrate your hygrometer and you'll see.
You can also put a couple of tablespoons of verm on top of the cake and keep that saturated with water. Gravity pulls water to the bottom of the cake, so that keeps a water source near the top for more even pinning. RR

I've got cakes that are bluing and it's really dark in places. got pissed at them and starting misting until they were covered in water! maybe they were telling me to do that to them... maybe they know... maybe... we are one now... me and my... pf tek cakes...

You should post photos but it most likely just bruising. If it looks like it is part of the cake you should be ok. If it looks like it is growing ON the cake then you may have a problem.
