How Come..

it can rain like hell outside and all the mushies survive, but if you mist lightly indoors it can abort them?

Misting lightly or even heavily does not abort mushrooms. Soaking wet mushrooms in stale air causes aborts. Always provide plenty of fresh air and you can mist like crazy. That's the reason for building a terrarium with holes in all six sides.

Outside the mycelia is not allowed to grow on the surface as we allow it to in indoor culivation and when it rains outside the force of the rain hitting the soil doesn't impact the mycelia cause it (the mycelia)is just under the surface of the substrate it is fruiting from, but in indoor cultivation the mycelia is on the surface of the substrate, so when you mist(if misting directly) the force of the mist impacting with the mycelia casuses it to bruise and to abort what primordia has formed due to damage of that impact.

When I mist, I mist up into the air and allow for the mist to fall onto the casing layer, preventing any damage and aborts.

Does that help?
