Are they really what they seem, or is it just another scam? Would like to know if anybody has tried this? If so, who did you go through? Did it work, or not?

Check out http://mysurvey123.com/content/view/13/. They aren't a scam, they just don't really pay that well. It's only worth it if you like your feedback being considered on product and branding decisions anyway. I've used mysurvey.com and socraticforum.com. MySurvey has frequent, short general-interest surveys which pay $0.10 no matter what, and sometimes more if you meet certain criteria and answer follow up questions. In the past I've also gotten frozen dinners and desserts, and toiletries like deodorant that they want feedback on. Socratic Forum has less frequent, longer, more custom-tailored surveys which pay up to $10 for 15 minutes but only if you pass some pre-qualifying questions.
Here's some examples of recent surveys from those two sites:
My Survey:
Quote:
Today's survey is about Office Supplies and is for the 26 year old male. It will take about 5 minutes and you'll earn 10 Survey.com reward points.
Quote:
Today's survey is about vision and eyewear and is for the 26 year old male. It will take about 5 minutes and you'll earn 10 NFO MySurvey.com reward points.
Quote:
Today's survey is about items at the grocery store and is for the 26 year old male. It will take about 3 minutes and you'll earn 10 MySurvey.com reward points.
Quote:
Today's survey is about beverages and is for the 26 year old male. It will take about 5 minutes and you'll earn 10 MySurvey.com reward points.
(1 point = 1 cent)
Socratic forum:
Quote:
We're inviting you to participate brief Screener Survey about printers. You will be asked about printers in general. We hope you will take a few minutes to participate in the Screener Survey as your feedback is important. Following your responses to the Screener Survey, if you qualify and are selected, you will be asked to participate in a two-day Online Web Board discussion. Each day's questions should take you no more than 30 minutes to complete. If you fully complete both days, you will receive a US $150 incentive.
(I didn't qualify.)
Quote:
We're inviting you to participate in a new survey about printer products. As our way of saying Thank You, those who qualify and complete the entire survey will receive $10 (USD). The survey is easy to complete and should take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time.
Quote:
We're inviting you to participate in a new survey about online interactive concepts. As our way of saying Thank You, those who qualify and complete the entire survey will receive $5, which will be immediately credited to your reward account. The survey is easy to complete and should take no more than 15-20 minutes of your time.
Quote:
We're inviting you to participate in a new survey about IT software. As our way of saying Thank You, those who qualify and complete the entire survey will receive $10, which will be immediately credited to your reward account. The survey is easy to complete and should take no more than 20 minutes of your time.
Like I said if you're just in it for the money you're probably wasting your time, but if you pick surveys which interest you, you can shape future product decisions and the payout is a bonus.

I know this is probably a dead topic, but I actually joined cash crate today and am already up to $16... which isn't a ridiculous amount of money, but for only an hour if that of online time it is not bad. And it is more than nothing, right. =D I won't know if it is 100% legit until I get the check in the mail, which should be around the 15th of july. From what I've read it sounds very legit, but who knows. I'm not sure if I can post my referral link here without getting banned, so I won't, but if you're interested in joining I would love a referral or two. Let me know. My email is jkeps08@yahoo.com. You can also contact me via myspace @ myspace.com/jkeps08. For every referral I bring to cash crate I get 20% of what they make and 10% of what THEIR referrals make. Sweet deal huh. And no, the 20% and 10% do not come out of your total earnings. Oh and for every referral I bring in that makes the $10 minimum I get a $3 bonus. Keep in mind though if you do decide to do this you have to make at least $10 a month to get your check... hence the $10 minimum. BUT making that is easy, especially if you live in the USA/Canada. Wow. Shut up Jordan. lol
Thanks [=
