I can't say I've heard that myself, but my choice for the greatest album of all time would be Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins.

Greatest Album of all time:
Sargent Pepper.
It had a huge impact on music and society, and its just plain great music. Though being a very young person, I wasnt around when Sargeant Pepper was released.

What kind of music? psychedelic folk-rock with some horns I guess. Some of the songs are so timeless and special. Putting this on while tripping makes me feel really great. I have a feeling this is one of the best albums of the 60s and it will never grow old.

Iron Maiden: 'Somewhere In Time' is one of my favorites, the emotion and pure energy in that album is incredible. Every time I listen to it, I am amazed on it's ability to just grab me by the soul and take it on a ride. The song 'Alexander the Great' is a classic, plain and simple... and the entire album is in my mind one of the most overlooked in their catalog. I have spent many a night driving home from my friend's house with that album just kicking me in the ass... and loving every minute of it.

Is this group LOVE of which you speak the 60's band founded by guitarist Arthur Lee?(I think it was Arthur, could be wrong however).....they had a psychedelic hit single called "seven and seven is" if memory serves.....

Of course I've heard it! Great album, but it wouldn't get my vote. I would say...either Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61 Revisited. There are a million things you could say... Pet Sounds is a contender, but I have to go with Dylan. Hmm...I think I'll put on Marquee Moon now that you've made me think of it

As always, thanks to Leary fan for providing visual accompaniement to the moment via the cover of Arthur Lee's LOVE.(don't know how he does that consistently either). Since categoriazation seems/seemed to be broken down(in my mind anyway) between GR8est album of all time and GR8est "psychedelic album" of all time.......and in so much as I don't wish to start a separate thread, my I humbly nominate Fifth Dimension by the Byrds as well as.......and I do aknowledge a certain provincialism in doing this, "Somewhere Outside" by Toronto's own UGLY DUKLINGS circa 65/66. It was re-released on CD about 3 years ago......Pls check it out! Sort of a hybrid of yardbirds meet Stones with early Quicksilver thrown in. Seriously, this album kicks some serious fucking ass from beginning to end........enjoy

Do any of you guys know that DARK SIDE OF THE MOON holds the world record for having sold the most copies of any album in history since it was released in 1973. I myself have gone through about 3 different copies of it over the years, and almost every friend I know owns it too. This is one solid reason to make Pink Floyd's Dark Side one of the very greatest albums of all time. I dont think another album will ever be made that comes close to the level of genius and perfection of Dark Side of the Moon.

There you have it. Dark Side Of The Moon wins the competition for the greatest album of all time because it has sold the most copies.
That's as logical as my sister saying Britney Spears is the greatest. Everyone loves that album. I'm going to listen to it right now and see if it holds up to all of this hype.

Well actually Dark Side of the Moon has been overtaken by the Eagles Greatest Hits as the biggest selling record of all time, which is a travesty against the musical sanity of mankind.
Anyway, my vote goes to Radiohead - OK Computer.
