possible contamination?
    #806548 - 08/09/02 09:15 AM (16 years, 5 months ago)

my moneky was spawing some horse poo, and possibly didnt use enuff brf cakes and growth has slowed down a great deal and now all the mycellium is a yellowy brown color with no real bright white spots and the dung hasnt fully colonized either, what should be done, toss the fukker an start over. or is this yellow brown a normal color? thanks having a moneky who cant type gets annoying when i gotta watch him sign it then me type it..

if you can do it today put it off till tommorow cause odds are it isnt really that important and probably doesnt even need to be done at all.

The yellowisbrown is from being waterlogged, fan some more, or find a way to get rid of excess water, like adding some vermiculite to the mix. bluhoney

try tilting your casing to one of the corners and see if some excessive water drains out.
sometimes with horse poo water will form at the bottom of the casing....especially if you made your horse poo too wet....or if your incubator is really humid.

horse poo won't colonize well if its too wet!
