I need a question answered. I currently have a 10cc syringe. It is in good condition. Can I use that to insert the spores into my cake or will I have to buy a syringe from the people I am getting the spores from?

What media are your spores coming in? If they are without a syringe I can only assume a spore print?

should be ok..
you will usually want one with a lower gauge (thicker) needle though.. so it might not be a bad idea to buy one..

can it be sterilized, I've had bad experiences autoclaving termuro syringes, most of the time the melt, you'll also need a needle that's about 1.5 inches long and 20guage or larger

I've used 21 guage without issue and a 23guage that clogged when it hit the rice, I normally use 3.5 inch 16guage spinal needles

I use the syringe's that are sent with spores over and over and over just boil water and suck it up in there about five times or so then suck pure alcohol in to it then expel it. Then pull the syringe back and forward very fast about 20 times to expel all the alcohol. Then just use your flaming, and alcohol wipes for inoculation.

the needles that i get are 1.5" 18g
u can sterilize a syringe by filling it with bleach leaving it for 3minutes, then flushing boiling water in it a few times, then letting it cool with boiling water in it.
then you would prep ur syringe with a print by scraping spores with an inoculating loop into a shotglass filling the shotglass with your sterile water and sucking it up.
