I was part of that group too, actually. I identified with no particular group but intermingled with all of them. I wasn't prejudiced or biased towards a person because of what they wore - which is truly one of the main factors that divide kids in high school, which is ridiculous. Near the end of high school I became more and more introverted though as my friends faded away. Then I just left. Got my GED and scored high as a mother fucker on it because standardized tests are so ridiculously easy.

So you said in your first post there were two, and only two, groups of people in high school, but now you're saying you weren't in one of those two groups? That doesn't even make sense.

I neglected to mention the midway between the two extremes. Nothing is ever black and white.

This isn't about mundane inconsistencies in the things I say, man. It's a little more deep than that.

i started getting high at age 15, started eating mushrooms at 16. then once i was fairly "aware" i looked around at the people i was surrounded by at school, and realized how fucking rediculous everyone was. people are so fucking stupid and egotistical. i dropped out junior year at age 17, and immediately got my GED.

dont regret a damn thing, except for not fucking around a lot more in class and pissing people/teachers off. my german class was the shit though, i do miss that. just cause of this complete moron who was in the class with us, he would do anything we told him to. our german teacher had an unhealthy obsession with yard gnomes. we told this loser to steal one of the teachers desk when no one was around. then later one of the other kids in class told on him, and he got caught with it. it was hilarious.

ive learned more OUTSIDE of school on my own, then i ever did in school. fuckin stupid homework and projects dont make you learn shit except hatred towards school administration.

The intentional difference in spelling is a figure of speech. For christ's sake. It's to illustrate the sheer difference between the two types of schools. Once again, mundane details.

I wasn't trying to be deep, let me just clear that up. I was saying the subject of public schooling is a deep one, with its social and psychological implications on individual consciousness. What exactly am I wrong about?? Are you trying to say the public school system is OK the way it is?! Because it surely is not!

No, but I don't think your gripes are accurate. First off, people are going to form themselves into social groups no matter what. That has nothing to do with the schooling system and everything to do with the people. Secondly I think the two groups you illustrated are far from all-encompassing. Anyone who went to a high school that had a strong black, or any other minority, population understands that race also plays a huge role in the way people interact. In fact that was probably the biggest factor in my high school experience. Not the losers and the cool kids, but the white kids and the black kids.

Judging by your crotchety nature and racially charged education, I assume you went to school in the 40's and have either Alzheimers or recently awoke from cryo-sleep.

That's silly, they didn't mix blacks and whites in schools in the fourties.

High School may be 'dumb' to some people and pointless but it's something you just have to do if you want to pursue college.  There are other alternatives and everyone is different which I understand but High School isn't bad, it's easy.  I sit in class, talk with friends, and get good grades.  I don't see how people get stressed out because as I'm not in the top classes (Pre-Calc, Chemistry) I am not in the dumb classes and attend sports.  It should be, in my opinion, 4 last years of being a kid and the best experience you can have (unless planning to attend college).  People do get picked on and the likes, but you cannot go out into the World by yourself and expect everyone to suck your nads and treat you like a five year old

i didnt like highschool but i did just enough to graduate. now im at a junior college and im loving it, in fact i quit working so i can have more time for schoolwork im taking 20 units right now. i get to pick my own classes where im really challenged and learn new things while actually learning things that i can use for a job (trying to get into hollywood down in la). highschool sucked i felt so ignored, alone, and alienated that i was actually going through panic attacks just sitting in class.
high school sucks and, everyones gotta go through it, but atleast know theres something better on the other side, wether its college or just plain working.

Highschool in and of itself was a pain.

But the people I knew through it are what made it worthwhile.

Plus, once you realized how much of a joke it is, it's a lot less stressful. Unfortunately, most of us don't figure that part out until after it's already done.

Where did I say anything about being a racist? You go to my school and tell me race doesn't play a huge roll in social groups. To deny the fact that skin color does, in fact, matter at this point in time is foolish.
