I've heard of some other species of hullucenogenic salvia. I just picked up some salvia seeds at a local seed supplier and was interested if I happen to have one of them. I'm under the impression that theres about 3 or more. Any info?

As far as i know its only salvia divinorum, but there are maybe three different strains of that species....something like that. Unless there are other types, if so somone share the wealth of knowledge.

Salvia apiana Contains Thujone, a compound found in many other plants including Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) and thought to be psychoactive.
Salvia splendens - Scarlet Sage Salvia splendens contains diterpene compounds closely related to Salvinorin (from Salvia divinorum), these being Salviarin and Splendidin. It appears however that these compounds are more relaxing and anxiolytic than hallucinogenic.
still, i'd say that the effects you are looking for will be found primarily in S. divinorum.

A double-blind test done by Daniel Siebert showed only a placebo affect in Splendens.
