After soaking, simmering/boiling your rye berrys or w/e you do to prepare them, I was wondering if anyone had a picture of wat the grains look like after the PC to determinte how much water content is in the grain.
This would help alot of us trying to figure out the correct water content in the berrys. Thanks

In the rye prep tek on my DVD I demonstrate putting a tablespoon or so of hydrated rye berries on a piece of toilet paper. After 15 seconds, there should be no wet spot on the toilet paper. This indicates there is no excess water on the surface of the rye. If the rye is twice its original size, with no wet spot on the toilet paper, load your jars 2/3 full and PC for 90 minutes at 15 psi. RR

word!! Correct water content is important but not a "must or failure situation". It is better to have less than more. Cracked kernels are no good. They stick
