at what point, does it become a "problem"? ive been drinking a lot more recently, especially since ive quit smoking pot. its starting to become a daily ritual for me... as was pot back in the day. why do i feel the need to not be sober? why am i afraid of being sober? just some thoughts... ive been doubting my actions as of late. im fucking hammered drunk right now, again, and am once again finding myself in a peculiar mood. im not even sure what the point of this post is... but there is definitely something that needs to be said, and discussed... i see myself becoming quite the alcoholic... and i dont like it. but i like to drink. this is my dilemma.

there is definitely a problem here.
if its not my drinking, its whats making me drink... getting down to the core of issues has always been tough for me. i dunno. shit just aint right, im not happy with what im doing right now. yet at the same time, its the only thing keeping me sane.

non-alcoholics don't even question whether they have a problem. Its not even an issue for them. If your worried about it, its a problem.

Well, you may have your personal issues, that's not for me to talk about. I am quite drunk at the moment also. I like to drink, whatever. I know plenty of people who already call me an alcoholic (I'm only 20), but fuck them, I drink far less often than a lot of my friends smoke weed. Who's the one with the problem? Surely not me, I can survive without a drink, they seem to fall apart when they don't get to toke for a day.

I recycled over 370 beer bottles today! These were accrued by two, me and the gf, in less than a month. I doubt YOU have a problem, yet anyway . . .

i feel as if i may be skating a line here, ready to fall back to one side or the other. i like to drink, its fun, its sociable, its relaxing and amusing. yet, once i get home, away from the bar or party or what ever... i get in this mood. i dont know how to explain it, but i feel shitty. this is the part that scares me, because this is the part that makes me go buy more beer... and drink it alone. dwell in my head, about all the irrelevant issues in my life, and just plain down and out. i keep telling myself i should just give it up, as there really is no need for me to drink... yet, here i am. drinking as i type this post. i just need someone to slap the shit oput of me or something.

You an I may be in the same boat, except I trick myself into thinking this mood is a positive thing. Until I actually get in a funk and depressed about drinking I'm gonna keep doing it regularly. Right now I actually find it therapeutic, more often than not at least.

I quit weed because I don't enjoy it. I enjoy drinking so I don't plan on quitting just yet.

man, i like you. you are a cool mother fucker. and i hope my current state is not something to come your direction in the future. i am a depressed outraged angry frustrated sad mother fucker at the moment. and i havent the clue as to where to point my finger. i just dont know, and that bothers me. the alcohol helps... to a point. after that, it becomes a burden. im in between states at the moment, and am scared as to which direction i may fall.

I think the only way to find out what the problem is, is to be sober until you start to feel the urge to drink. Once you start to feel the urge, start to think why you are feeling this urge, it should be most obvious at the moment when you feel the need to drink. Is it that your bored? Trying to block something out? or a chemical addiction like with nicotine withdrawal? Once you know what it is find another way to satisfy the urge besides drinking or taking some other form of drug.

i quit weed due to job reasons. i got my cdl, i drive a truck and (not so)random tests are the norm. i like my job, and would like to keep it. what i need to do is learn how to be happy sober, i think. works out well on paper, but application is a bit harder than i thought it would be...

No judgments--hell, I have no place to speak from.
I think it's just something you deal with when you get very tired of the cycle. It's you. Your choice. It's me, and my choice. Fuck up good and hard while you're drunk. I think this is the "Moment of Clarity" heavy drinkers talk about. Might just be a bad night, though. You make it what you want it to be.

its only a problem if its affecting other people negatively...if not, drink on.
