Your sub is defiantly way to dry if its cracking like that.... It's kind of hard to make out since the picture quality is pretty rancid (obviously I'm just over stating it) lol..
If its cracking like that, it means the sub is damn near 100% dry, you may need to deep scratch it prior to casing, get RR's advice first though, without better quality pictures I'm not comfortable with that bit of advice.

I know they looked cracked, but they have looked like that since the 1st day. Im really hoping that it was just the way it laid when i put it in there.
If it is dry though, i thought i read RR say that he sometimes likes the sub to be a little on the dry side because it colonizes faster. Im just crossing my fingers here because this is my 1st monotub and im a little nervous to dunk it before 1st flush.

Here's your first image after being image corrected with Photoshop.
I think the color is more accurate. It still looks dry but it doesn't look as colonized.
Dude, your camera sux. The photos are WAY too pixelated to see the colonization clearly.
For reference, here is the un-Photoshopped original.

IMO it looks far too dry. It also looks like the substrates been packed down pretty tight.

This is my 1st attempt at a monotub. Im using 3qts of brf with 1 brick of straight coir in a 60 qt monotub. It has been 5 days since i spawned. I would say it looks almost fully colonized but I'm gonna wait at least 10 days. I am also going to use 50/50 casing mix on it.
I know the pics are pretty crappy but how do you think its looking so far and does anyone have any ideas of what yield could be? i know its hard to say but id like to have something nice to think of tonight while laying in bed.
That definitely is not 100% colonized. Also it does look rather dry.

Ok get some sterile water in a syringe and hydrate that bitch. That's Cracker Dry. If it was me I'd dunk it again and put it back to colonize but be sure to leave the lid off for a 24 hour period and fan frequently for it consolidate back together. That's too dry honestly I'd just redo it.
Anyone think different?

It is SO hard to say, because the pic quality is bad.
I have seen myc make spectacular comebacks when it is re-hydrated.
If that is as dry as it looks, I'd water the fuck out of the sub (with a centimeter or two worth of water... like a nice rainstorm) then I'd add the casing... and hope for the best.
I really think he can pull this off.

Im a little apprehensive to dunk, since its not fully colonized. I just cant think of a safe way to get the water out.
I think I am going to just pour some spring water over it, but after i add the water should i let the myc re-consolidate or should i just apply the casing layer?
thx

I'd case... fruit... and hope for the best. But like I said... water your substrate well (Let it rain!), before adding the casing... and keep the casing well watered... it seems myc needs more water than you think it does... of course, with that pic I can't be 100% certain.
