It has been raining here for the last two days. Today was the first day it didn't rain and it was nice and sunny all day. Temps have been in the lower to upper 50's at night. Temps in the day around 65 to 70. Tomorrow will be very nice also. Is it the perfect time to go hunting? If so, where should I go? The woods. Most cow and horse fields might be kinda dangerous here. People have an itch to pull the trigger. The ground has dried up some and it seems from all that I have read it would be the perfect time. What time of day should I go? I guess the woods is my only option, will I have much luck do you think? Does much of anything grow in the woods. There are some fields too, but no animals on them? Any help would be appreciated. If this helps. NW Florida

Florida holds a few psychoactive species of mushrooms this time of year. Perhaps the easiest to identify is Psilocybe Cubensis, and they aren't usually found in forests. You need to wander around and find some cow pastures, even if there aren't any near you. Cubensis can be found on cow dung all over the place around the gulf of mexico. Usually a good three days of rain and warm weather will bring them out.
Good luck, and happy hunting!

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck

Your in Florida so your best bet is Psilocybe cubensis (cubes) and Pan cyan (copes) both of which grow on cow poop (and sometimes horse poop)
You can learn how to ID Psilocybe cubensis here Noob Psilocybe cubensis reference Or here The Ultimate Beginners Guide to: Hunting The Psilocybe cubensis
These mushrooms grow in Florida Florida Gymnopilus luteofolius Gymnopilus luteoviridis Gymnopilus luteus Panaeolus castaneifolius Panaeolus cyanescens Panaeolus chlorocystis Panaeolus fimicola Panaeolus subbalteatus Psilocybe caerulescens Psilocybe cubensis Psilocybe mammilata Psilocybe tampanensis ...and 2 as yet unnamed Panaeolus species!
Please take the time to read the rules so you dont break them again Read Me!!! Yes You n00b: Mushroom Hunting Forum Rules
3. Do not ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or immediate area. This information is easily found in the Mushroom Hunting FAQ and/or has been posted at least once elsewhere on the net. Also see this document: http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area
5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather. This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting. As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 2-3 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, then *yes* it is possible that the mushroom you are looking for is growing. Threads or posts that are made for the discussion of weather will be locked, edited, or deleted.
6. No asking when or where mushrooms, or a specific mushroom species will grow. This includes, asking what habitat a mushroom[s] can be found- or their preferred fruiting conditions. This can be very simply answered by using the "search posts" feature: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/search.php
