LSD Flashbacks

I'd like some feedback from experienced LSD users, specifically those who claim to have experienced LSD flashbacks.
I've recently been noticing some abnormal visual effects, soberly, and I'm curious as to if they're some form of LSD flashbacks. It's usually triggered by looking at a small, repetative pattern (most commonly really small floor tiles), and then having my eyes go out of focus. I noticed this awhile back while going to the bathroom; the tiles begin to swell and move around, ever so slightly, on the floor in a very similar fashion to while I've been on psychedelics (LSD, specifically). There's been other times it's randomly kicked in, but it is triggered most effectively via the way I just described.
Is that a "flashback?" I read someone else's post awhile back concerning flashbacks as a quirky visual effect that, prior to tripping one would've just assumed "whoa, that was kinda weird;" now, after tripping, however, an experienced user can say "wow, that's a lot like it was when I was tripping." What's yr opinions on that? I think I agree and relate. Also, what's the big deal? I don't get why this is such a phenomenon to people; once our brain has become familiarized with the neuro-pathways of our brains while tripping, it makes sense that we'd be able to go via those transits again. I usually make the analogy of never being taught mathematics, then, after having learnt math, we can easily go down those logical neuropathways again. What's the big freaky deal?
Thanks.

the more you drop acid the stronger that gets though, and the more often it happens
and your thought patterns start to get a lot wierder and more scattered as well
at least for me....everyone is different

i think the "flashback" thing is pretty overexagerated. i get the HPPD though. ive never had an, all the sudden, im tripping balls again, then it just go away, flashback kinda thing. but i do have visual distortions everyday, pretty much constantly. but ive gotten used to it. not a big deal.

I am glad to hear others talking about this. Anytime I say look up at the ceiling with all those little dots, they seem to wave and move around sort of speak. Like ou said, when your eyes just get out of focus. Or say the new tail lights on some cars really weird me out. With all the dots. Guess it seems to be a dot thing with me, that mess with my head the most. They mess with my vision bad. One day I asked my girl if they looked weird to her "new taillights" and she was kinda like, "what are you talking about" of course I was like never mind.

I've had something similar. The most intense thing I've had visually was lots of different colours appear on a ceiling while the dried paint drops span in circles. I also occasionally get strange sensations in my nose and breathing through it becomes more noticeable, which actually makes meditation easier.
The most profound long term effect I've had as a result of LSD is a feeling of absolute infinite love and contentment, which I can get back to occasionally, either throuh meditation or spontaneously. Flash backs are hugely over-exaggerated, but over-using psychedelics can make visual distortions and strange thoughts more and more intense.
I think these effects are fed by paranoia, since intense fear can in itself cause hallucinations, so when someone reacts to these "flashbacks" with fear, it just intensifies them and the cycle continues. That's just a theory of mine, though. In general, though, unless you're tripping several times a week on huge doses, flashbacks aren't significant, and even if you are, they might never happen.

the longer I go without taking psychedelics the more this seems to fade for me.

I usually get them when I toke...flashbacks aren't that bad for me, but every so often, a picture on the wall may seem to zoom towards me, or a spot of my vision will swirl a teeny bit, nothing too bad...I've done 'cid about 5 times, the first 4 times were under 100mcg doses...the fifth...well, that was over 500 mics and I get flashbacks every so often. It's nothing big, hardly noticible for me unless you really look at whatever it is at the time...

It's like I re-experience the acid trip, visually, aurally, conceptually, and emotionally. Like deju-vu feels, only it reminds you of a trip you have. It's fun.
Maybe it's not an acid flashback. Maybe I just have a good memory and a potent imagination.

WOW man I cant exlpain the flashbacks as well as i want due to the english launguage being fucked up so i will do my best: I took acic 3 times in the past year Im only 20 It came around and i grabbed it two hits each time it fucked me up pretty good man, i was seeing faces in my wooden walls, thought some fat guy in a white Tee Shirt was god. Went up to my room to die. Then i started seeing shit! shit i didnt even see while i was on Cid man. Yeah Totally trippy man like when the right light hits my irises, or the right pattern of objects in my vision arises sometimes i see those tracers flowing from my spirit. the same tracers or vertices (vortexes) they capture in ghost images. shit man i do believe taking acid links up us with a spiritual dimension, but i did not know how interdimensional it really was///// ya know. lol, a lot like putting a blender in your house and scrambling everything up. i havent taken acid in at least three months but the flashbacks are getting more common i dont know if its whether i am welcoming more and more visions and the spirits are sloly teapotting me in about it; so i dont get scared and go crazy. dont get frightend by them

i sometimes have flashbacks, but not really what is stereotyped. I find after getting a buzz off some really good weed, i sometimes find myself getting slight visuals. As my friends say the same thing. Don't know if its technically a flashback thou.

I call them echoes instead of flashbacks
i think that is a much better description of the phenomenon

Well....
Most of the stuff you hear is bullshit. You may get a weird feeling after you have tripped, maybe a week or two, or even a month or two, and you automatically attribute that to you taking a drug/the trip.
If it was a bad trip, sometimes people will have a panic attack because they think their gonna start tripping again, this usually brings on the fear they had, and they can feel pretty shitty.
As for REAL flashbacks, its bullshit, I've heard of people with previous mental health issues who have episodes, but no real flashbacks like its portrayed.
I've had similar situations where something weird will happen, like if you stare at a bunch of tree's for ages, or the tiles on your bathroom floor, shit like that.
Well I guess you can put it into two camps-
Weird thought patterns and a MINOR re-occurant of the effects of the drug after you have taken it.
And HPPD.
But generally, most of the STORIES you hear are bullshit.
Feel free to quote me on this if I'm wrong.

I heard you trigger flashbacks by going from a dark room to a very bright one.

While i don't have flashbacks, i do get some extreme hppd. nothing more than what i've had and it's just triggered by visiting a place that was a very pleasant part of my trips.
and as for civil, i don't think he's spreading much bullshit, some people can go off their rocker from taking shitloads of lsd, however they do have to be predisposed to a mental disorder. and his friend is probably just going on major hppd episodes. i'd have to hear more in depth about the story to be more judgemental or to even call it bullshit.
BTW civil, is your name off the weakerthan's newest album or something else?
