i tired dunking my last grow for the first time and yes it is simple dont let the numerous or differnt styles/technique distraught you...
all i did was after my first flush i took my 3 casings and placed them into the bathtub. i then ran the water and filled each tray up with water... then i took 3 empty water gallons that i used in making the substrate from distilled water and filled each gallon up all the way and put the cap on them.. i took a foam paper plate and placed that on the filled up trays of water and then place gallon of water for weight... then i took a couple more plates and layed them out to run the dripping water onto each casing evenly so that way there is no sitting water... .. from what i heard you want a trickle of water so contams cannot form... if the water sits still without movement contams form.. just my help p.s. let them sit 24hours and once done drain water put back into fruiting chamber... i did three flushes

what is the deal with soaking trays is there an easy foolproof method for re-hydrating them I'v'nt seen anything on it.

My advice, as flawed as it may be, is to wait until after the second flush. From what I understand, the pins for the first and second flush are formed at the same time, and dunking so soon may disrupt the growth of the second flush pins. But, I don't know.

Im sick of soaking trays. Its messy, and I always seem to have water left over just sitting in trays.Im colonizing a bunch of jars now and ima try moving to bags, fruiting out the top and tottaly taking outa the bag. That way I can just throw the whole ball of sub in a tub of water, then put it back on the shelf.Seems simple to me.

while we're on the subject what about straw logs?(I'm planning on getting into them later) How do you re-humidify them?
