Adding coffee to PF Cakes?

So somewhere I heard something about adding coffee to pf cakes as being pretty good. I've got a lot of used coffeee grinds and I was wondering what sort of ratios people have experimented with, when combining WBS with coffee?
cheers for any advice.

I clicked on "Search Posts"
Then I typed what you asked "Cofee WBS ratio"
then I found too many posts too go threw, but in about 15 secs I honed in on a few and about 1 part coffee grounds to 15-25 parts wbs/medium of choice.
And I am not trying to sound like a prick- just trying to stress the power and all that this board has to offer. We like to see people get answers, and searching random keywords can really help you out- and if not, at least help you narrow down your question so it can better be answered.

You soak the grains in weak liquid coffee to hydrate them. Coffee grinds are a BULK substrate that you don't want to mix with the grains as it would only dilute them. RR

I figured I'd only add coffee grinds to the cakes to up the nitrogen, i'll be using horse poo for the bulk anyway so there's plenty of N there. I just heard good things about coffee speeding up cake colonisation, or at least of good healthy mycelial growth when using it.
So instead of used coffee grinds you suggest soaking in weak coffee water? Only thing is I prefer to use used coffee than use new coffee, especially cuz i've stockpiled on a shitload of the stuff.
definitely a no-go adding used coffee grinds to the cakes?
I might experiment with both teks actually. 1/20th is SFA so it won't replace much grain anyhow.

If you're talking about grain spawn then you just want to soak. With BRF cakes you can add the leached grounds. I actually have some flax/oatmeal/straw cakes that I added coffee grounds to at about 10% by volume that are colonizing right now. They're at day 10 now and a few are about 60% colonized.
