Slicing cakes?

So my spores are in the mail and im jsut trying ot get a tek down. I was wondering whether or not slicing the cakes down the middle vertically and then laying them flat in the terrarium will maybe increase yeild? I was also wondering if there is any advantage in making larger or smaller cakes?

Slicing, contrary to belief, does not increase yeild. Casing the crumbled cake does increase yeild some what. Bigger cakes= longer colinzation time, you might as well make a lot of cakes or go to bulk. Just go with pf tek, its the best for beginners.

Becareful, its way too easy to fu/k up a good half cake trying to go bulk. Remember that for bulk its good to have 40%spawn/60%bulk anything less and u will either have a super slow colinization or get a contam.

That's bad ass. Looks like a genuinely faster/more efficient way to use up cakes. Thanks for posting it.

Don't limit yourself to one tek. With one syringe you can innoc a lot of jars. For my first go at this I went with 6 cake jars, 3 WBS, and 3 rye because why not mess around with a lot of options to see what you like best? I suggest make a lot of cakes and then a few grains. Once the grains get going you can always use them to make even more jars of grains while you work on fruiting your cakes.
*Edit - I just noticed your second post saying you thinking of bulk. EXCELLENT!!! Run with it!

I myself like cakes the best for spawning bulk even better then grains. The secret is to use a cheese grader. Grind that cake up all over the bulk casing and you get some very fast colonization times.
By the way if ya want big cakes just break em up and let them grow together. Everything in here is BRF
