Anyone ever heard of using a TV screen as a lens for a greenhouse? Some of these things will reflect light so well you can boil water under them...

i personally would not magnify anything with a greenhouse....you know they need to be *cooled* in the summer...plants can cook as well. if the fans in teh greenhouses stop for one day in the summer here, you start loosing a lot of plants.
i think its risky.

Yeah, I live in the deep freeze here. I would like to grow some stuff this winters with out an artificially heated green house.
I wasn't thinking of composing the entire greenhouse from these lenses, it would be way too hot. And even just one would probably be too much in the summer.
On that note, anyone have any tips for heating a greenhouse in the winter?

dont use all glass sides. have it partially burried and use real walls with insulation. use old sliding glass doors(nice double pane glass in them suckers) for top/top of sides. maybe use a 3 sided roof. it wont be AS cold....but it won't be warm without heaters.
