Is it worth it?
http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/7329914/a/Psychedelic+Moods.htm
This is definately an album I'd enjoy having a hard copy off (I think after The Shaggs- Philosophy of the World I'll just start downloading music), but I heard one of these album reissues have such a clean sound the raw psychedelic garage sound is too clean
On the other hand, the six bonus tracks are incredibly enticing....
And I'm getting a job so money is a nonissue

If your into the weirder stuff, I'd recommend KLF - Chill Out
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chill_Out It's a great album, but not much "music" in the album really, but its extremely ambient, very good for psychedelic journeys and for putting on when your going to sleep.
Probably have some free samples somewhere on the net, so try those out before you buy.
EDIT: They have free samples on the Wikipedia page I linked. Try em out , or PM me

Haha, did you pay money for a Shaggs CD? Oh my god, that's too funny. The Shaggs are good for a laugh but paying hard earned money for their album would be unthinkable.
As for the album in question, it looks like it's just the first "Psychedelic Moods" album with some demos or something as well as the first 6 or 7 tracks from "Psychedelic Moods Part 2", which features Hydro Pyro (with Mark Bakan and D. Blackhurst from The Deep) and a bunch of other bands. Since you already have the first "PM" album, I'd get Part 2 next instead of this import. Click here to check it out on Amazon.com. There are some good songs on that album. I really like the United Travel Service songs. Actually, one of those Hydro Pyro songs is already scheduled to be my "Mp3 Of the Month" for March. Wait one week to find out which.
Also, you might want to check out Freak Scene - "Psychedelic Psoul", which is supposedly basically another Deep album. I've only heard "My Rainbow Life", which was also done by The Third Bardo (not sure who originally did that song though).

Yah, there' sapparently like 5 Psychedelic Moods I believe, maybe more
I'm usually not too big on compilations, but these would certainly be worth checking out
Good thing I'll probably get a job soon, and I wouldn't consider Blockbuster hard earned cash
How do you find out all this Deep information, I try but I can't realy find anything on them,t he only member I knew of was Rusty Evans before reading your post

There's a book called "Fuzz Acid And Flowers" and it also used to be a website that you could reference. They took the site down, but I downloaded what was basically the entire site on SoulSeek. Here's what it says about Hydro Pyro and Freak Scene.....................
Quote:
Hydro Pyro
CD: 1 PSYCHEDELIC MOODS, PART 4: THE FINAL ACT (Collectables COL-CD-0653) 1995
NB: (1) is a retrospective, which also includes material by The Deep.
From upstate New York, they resided in Greenwich Village for part of 1967. On 24th April 1967 they entered the Mercury Sound Studios to cut six mind expanding psychedelic numbers written by Deep members Mark Barkin and D. Blackhurst. None of the band were more than nineteen and they were heavily into acid. The six tracks:- The House of Yesterday, Id, Hydro-Pyro, Purple Floating, Snow Petals and Little Tln Soldler - sound like the Deep album and you'll find them all on Psychedelic Moods - Part Two (LP & CD).
Other compilation appearances include: Hydro Pyro and Id on Green Crystal Ties Vol. 4 (CD).
(Max Waller / Vernon Joynson)
Quote:
Freak Scene
Personnel incl: RUSTY EVANS A
ALBUM: 1 PSYCHEDELIC PSOUL (Columbia 9356) 1967
NB: (1) has been counterfeited on vinyl in 1989 and also twice on CD including (Head 2896) 1997. The album has also been reissued officially on CD together with Devil's Anvil's album
45: 1 A Million Grains Of Sand/Behind The Mind (Columbia 44056) 1967
The album is virtually a second Deep LP and almost identical in style. A Million Grains Of Sand and My Rainbow Life are two of its better tracks. Some of the other material can arguably described as rubbish, or brilliant. It's now a minor collectors' item and has been reissued several times. My Rainbow Life was also done by Third Bardo and it has therefore been surmised that they were yet another of Rusty Evans' 'projects'. This was not the case as you'll read later in the Third Bardo entry. Filling The Gap includes a different version of A Million Grains of Sand that Rusty recorded at a later date as Marcus.
Compilation appearances include: A Million Grains Of Sand on Psychosis From The 13th Dimension (CDR & CD).

I would expand within the psychedelia genre itself as well. There are a ton of great 60's underground compilations out there such as "Pebbles", "Psychedelic Unknowns", "The Psychedelic Experience", etc., etc., etc.

There was a lot of great reasons to live in the sixties. That's for sure.
Hey, not sure if you've heard The Third Bardo. They were a really excellent underground psych band. Click here to listen to "Five Years Ahead Of My Time".
