i fucking hate sheik. the most aggravating character to play against. i've got a bunch of friends that play wayyyyyyy too much. the one who plays sheik as his primary character is disgusting and can chain throw the shit out of me. it's so annoying.
and he's one of the few people i know that actually regularly incorporates wavedashing into his standard gameplay, albeit to a somewhat limited extent.

wavedashing can be useful if done well. I got good using it with luigi I think.
Ever do the 'black hole' trick?

no, but i've seen it on youtube. seems difficult to get down and i don't really play often enough anymore to care to try.
the way he utilizes the wavedash is he'll sprint towards you to encourage you to swing at him and quickly wavedash backwards out of range then forwards again into a hit or a grab. he does it so quickly and effectively it's easy to be faked out by it. of course he doesn't do it every time so as to be predictable, but it's a pretty common maneuver of his.

fox is a popular character. i played with fox for a while. got pretty decent, decided to change it up and went to marth. got decent, decided to change it up again and now i'm with falco, who is quite similar to fox, yet has little idiosyncrasies i enjoy playing with.

Link is a pretty solid character if you have the timing right. Ness is definitely the best if you are having a good day. Fox is fun if you're tweaking and like to jump around a lot.

I disagree, they threw in too many variables to where it became a button mashing game. With the 64 version, it was like a game of speed chess

I enjoy playing the 64 version more I guess because it is more 'basic.' nigga!
Like, I still like the GC version but 64 will always be better to me.

obviously you don't play against very good players. there is no possible way you can just "button-mash" against anyone who knows what they're doing. there are so many subtle combos that require timing perfect to the fraction of a second to actually pull off.

gc version is like a faxster game of chess. if you try button smashing agains me i will demolish you. its all about the dogeing and blocking and throwing. indeed i pine for the good ol days of original ssb but still. better graphics charictors moves and all around funer game play makes it a hard argument to make

It is my personal opinion so really there is no argument I need to make. Same goes for you.
I mastered both games so I would love to challenge you to a duel and see who is the victor.
