I ran 5.3 miles!

I'm SOOO pumped. I started running awhile ago and five miles has been my goal since I started. I felt like I would be stuck on 4.5 miles forever, and today when I was running I thought, "You know, it's my goal to make five miles before summmer."
Then, I thought, "Nah, that's too far away. How about before next Friday."
THEN, I thought, "FUCK IT, I'm grinding this bitch against the wall and GOING FOR IT NOW!"
So I did 5.3 miles of continuous running.
Yay. Just had to share my exuberance! When I hopped off that treadmill I FLOATED.

Treadmill doesn't count MY ASS.
It's 20 degrees outside, snow piled everywhere and we're getting about another foot tomorrow. I do still see runners hitting the streets and I only watch in wonder at their ability to stand the cold. I wonder what type of clothing they wear. I would love to get some hardy winter running clothes but I have to wait until my first paycheck.
Regardless, I've come to the realization that if I don't run, I go insane.

Running 5 miles on treadmill is way different than running 5 miles on a trail or something.
Congrats though

Well, you gotta start somewhere! Especially in the dead of winter.
I'm still proud.
When the temps get warmer I'd LOVE to do some trail running!

It's been a couple years since I've ran more than 3 miles, nice job. (I hate treadmills, thank god it doesn't snow here).

Bonus if you have some crazed psycho chasing after you along the trail at night.
You'll end up doing 10 miles without even thinking of getting tired.

Good job! Running is one of my best hobbies. Just wait until you can sustain 14 mph for a good few seconds. The exhilaration is.... well exhilarating!

Hey man it happens
Trails are supposedly where the crazies jump out and get you at night.

Plus I love the feeling of the Earth pounding beneath my feet. I've ran outside on a few occasions and yeah, it is a lot different; it seems like you have to push yourself harder to go the same distance or something. Am I right?
When I'm on the treadmill at the gym I have to really keep all my focus up at my third eye otherwise I lose interest. It takes a lot of concentration for me to stand there and run in one spot, hehe.

I just started running again recently and I know exactly what you mean about focusing at the third eye. If I'm not focused then I start getting tired faster and it seems like more of an effort.

Most of the time I do. Music is my "scenery" when I'm at the gym.

Yeah. I quickly find myself bored on the treadmill without one. I also push myself more as I would without music. It's such a neat performance enhancer.

Yeah I pretty much go crazy if I don't exercise as well. I always feel awesome after a hard core work out. I literally go insane pretty much. But now that I have this knowledge it's all good in da hood. Yea and that floaty feeling is from DMT being released from your brain.
