Question for the skateboarders here
    #8052151 - 02/21/08 02:35 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I got my longboard for x-mas, and it is awesome, but could use some better bearings.

I have a 25$ gift card I can spend anywhere. What are the fastest bearings I can get for 25$?

Pretty good ones actually.

I dunno if they fit longboard because I just skated a regular deck and I know they have bigger wheels and all, but I used Bones Reds, they are good for the money.

But I loved Bones Swiss if you wanna spend that much, its only ten more than what you're wanting.

Nice, I believe that bearings are universal, if I am not mistaken.

I was actually looking at those.

Yup, anything by Bones is great. Even the lower costing ones.

To tell you the truth the standard swiss aren't even that much faster then the reds. If you take out the reds from your wheels and give them a good cleaning and lubing every now and then they will be just as good as the standard white box swiss ones.

long board bearings are completely different! you can use regular ones but they wont go nearly as fast and will wear them out...

Sector 9 sells a set for $16 called Abec 5 Greaseball Bearings

when choosing a bearing make sure it has an ABEC rating, the higher the abec the higher the quality, it goes up to 9... sector nine makes really good long boards thats why i would choose those bearings...

well what do you not like about the bearings?? they usually need a couple miles to break in completely, all the lubricant is still a little sticky when you first buy them...

I guess I will give it some more time. Just seems laggy to me. I hopped on my friends normal deck and it cruised better than mine.

I plan to skate to work in the spring and summer, So I want a board that will cruise for a long ways on a couple of pushes.

See I don't know I don't longboard, I thought they were universal and would be okay, I've heard of people using them for rollerskates even, but

All I know is these mo fuggers will beat anything that has ABEC whatever on it

Swiss ceramics
