Yeah, S. lakei. I thought maybe it would be tough because you can't see the pores. But you got it pretty quick.

I've been leafing through a borrowed copy of North American Boletes by Bessette, Roody, and Bessette the past few days, so it was fresh on my mind.... the Douglas Fir hint was key.

How about this one? all three are the same species, the specimen on the left has somewhat developed caps while the two on the right are the resupinate form.
Here is a hint... the species name, evokes the genus name, of a group of fungi that typically have common names that include references to female practitioners of the dark arts... and a dairy product that is high in cholesterol and good on toast.

Cactu, my best guess is a very pale Polyporus leptocephalus or P. varius.

A reminder to everyone:
This thread is for CONFIRMED IDENTIFICATIONS.
Do not post photos of unidentified mushrooms that you want ID's on, just start your own thread and include the required ID info if you would like an ID on your mushrooms.
This thread is a great idea by the way! Thanks doitagain for starting this! It certainly is a good way to keep from going rusty on identification- some of these have been a real challenge!
