Food pans

I have been looking for some good casing trays to fit in my 55gal rubtub. I found these Carlisle 10262 6" Deep, 1/3 Size Food Storage Pans.

Here the product description,
" Made of dishwasher safe and NSF listed polycarbonate that resists food acids and oils and can withstand temperatures of -40 F to 212 F. Pan has easy lift spoon notches at both ends for a safe, sanitary, easy removal. Optional solid, notched and soft lids sold separately. Dimensions 12.75"X7". Available in Black and Clear"
there about $5 bucks a piece.

the 55gal tubs I'm using measure 16"X36" so I figure I can fit 5 in each FC. 10 of these cost $70 shipped.

Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives or should I just go for these?

i've seen a lot of people use 1/3 pans. even myself (used old nasty ones being thrown out by my restaurant) they work fine and allow for a nice deep substrate.

these are the good, high temperature "lexan" ones i think u'r talking about. I'd shoot for the black ones...

on a little more cost effective note. go to your local pet store, and get two medium/large kitty litter pans. thats how we roll. then again, thats in a greenhouse set up.

they're like 3 bucks each! and they are rather large! u'll be suprised how much can come from it.

gonna have to agree with thisguy. the lexans are strong, durable, can take a lot of abuse before they the wear. but if youre looking for cheap, kitty liter pans are the way to go.
