What do you fear?

I was upstairs changing and realized again as to why I stand 3 foot away from my bed at all times. I will admit, I am afraid of standing directly next to beds. I mean there are monsters under there ready to grab my feet and pull me under, then feed upon my body while I scream. Right? I also will admit to being scared of dark places.
^^Both of those are true, but oddly only if i am not wearing my boots. I know, weird. If i am wearing my boots, then i feel safe still.
No matter what, i am, have and always will be afraid to DEATH of anything that flies and can sting me.
What things frighten you still? No man or woman is afraid of nothing.

Lol I have the 3 foot rule, too, but not because of monsters. I am terrified of mummies, and have been since I read this book in grade 1.
I also can't put my face underwater (fear of drowning), walk outside by myself after dark (fear of monsters, rapists, murderers, etc), or sleep with a cat in my bedroom (fear of being smothered in my sleep).
ETA: And elbows! I hate elbows. Touching them, having mine touched, looking at them, everything about them. Ugh.

I definitely know what you mean about flying stinging insects. Horrible things. Ticks as well, anything that buries into you or worms that live inside you.
I've never been scared of the dark but where I grew up we had no street lights - we used to run around in the pitch black all the time.
Sometimes the thought of dieing scares me, other times logic prevails and I become calm and it no longer scares me. Its strange.

honestly, the only thing that comes to mind for fears of mine is losing someone close like my fiancee, or my father. especially to violent crime like murder, or rape or something terrible like that.
i know its the typical tough guy response, but i really do not fear anything else.

Ya, I skydived once (I have an uncle who's an instructor in the Bay Area), and I rock climb all the time, but I'll be half way up a wall, and I'll just freeze. It's totally sudden. Also, I'm never ever afraid of airplaned and the like. I can't explain it.
Oh, I also had a couple pals hang me off the edge of Half Dome (we took turns). It was the single most frightening moment of my life.

Generally afraid of police. Like most people. But I am also afraid of snakes, bees of course. Anything that is poisonous and has a stinger will make me walk away.

I fear parasites, and losing my mind. Other than that, I think I can handle it. Society breaking down also frightens me, not so much in the end-of-the-world sense but if it came down to absolutely no order, people killing eachother for food, raping and killing just because they could... I'd be very frightened for my family, and I don't know what I'd do.
Edit... I have found a stasis box containing a cache of angreal and sa'angreal, and will be coming for you shortly LordofChaos.

I fear having my teeth knocked through my bottom lip, having sharp objects pointed anywhere near my eyes, I am carefully aware of heights but I would not say I fear them I just admire from a distance. Fell off of one so that might have something to do with it. Snakes freak me out Oh, and the under the bed thing Ever since I saw Pet Cemetery I jump into bed. Don't know if anyone remembers when the dude (Fred Gwynne aka Herman Munster) is walking by the bed and the kid slashes his Achilles tendon. That has been burned into my memory forever.

I was thinking... And in addition to the earlier fears I posted, I'm also afraid of STDs and injuring my penis. Did you know that something like 60% of college age females have at least one strain of HPV? By the time they read their 40s, it jumps to like 90%. Most of these strains are harmless, and show little to no symptoms... but some of them, cause everything from genital warts to cervical and penile cancer. And 1 in 4 females have HERPES? And most don't show symptoms, so they never know it! Scary shit mang... A while ago, I injured a vein in my dick through a condom roughing up my cock, I didn't think I'd ever be able to have sex again without extreme pain... But I guess this goes back to a fear of losing ones 'manhood', his ability to pleasure himself and a woman... I don't know, my penis is very important to me. I'd rather lose an arm, or a leg, or an arm and a leg.

I have a similar relationship with heights.. I like to push myself and do sketchy shit that gets the adrenalin flowing so I often walk along hand-rails over bridges or scale small cliffs without equipment and other sketchy shit like that. The height doesn't bother me until I get about 3/4 of the way, when I realise how close to death I am.. Its a really weird feeling (I always seem to go back for more as well).

I don't know what you're saying here. I tend to go with einstien on these universal things (not that I'm, a scientist or a philosopher, in fact I just have trouble getting up in the morning.)

Losing limbs or digits or disfigurement of my face
Incarceration
Torture
Being ostracized by humanity
Embarrassing myself badly
Me or my sister dying before my parents die (I would never want them to lose one of their children; it would destroy them)
Squandering my youth
Bears and predatory cats
