I bought a pack the other day when I was drunk, smoked one cigarette, and now the rest of the pack is just sitting on my windowsill saying "pleeease smooooke meeee." It's driving me insane.

weed is the best solution to get off something so addictive

it should be schedule 1, no medical value and high rate for abuse
weed is schedule 1 even tho it has some serious medical value
even meth has medical value and is prescribed as desoxyn
but either way there are people pushing for making cigarettes illegal but they have phat fucking lobbyist trying to stop them

I dont think they should be illeagal. Prohibition doesnt work. People will just start killing people directly for tobacco instead of themselves.

Stick with it. It's hard, I know, (I quit last Aug.) but it's well worth it. Health benefits aside, there's also the money you'll be saving. Those things are expensive!

I don't see the big deal. I quit today with no problem. I just decided and that was it. Didn't see any short term or long term benefits so I just stopped. I will never understand what the big fucking deal is with giving up anything and I've done pretty much every drug under the sun until I got bored.

Most days I smoked about 8-10 but I used to smoke around 20 a day before I dropped it last time. Started up again  about six months ago. Today I decided to drop it again, no problem.

I just don't see the big deal and I think its probably fear mongering from propaganda that makes people think its so 'hard' to quit anything in the first place.

That is a long time. I smoked for about 12 years on and off but not consistently at all and breaks of years in between.

I heard using the patch is stupid in a way because you are paying more for your addiction to nicotine,,ytou might as well cut down slowly then quit.

Smoking causes hair loss. If you still have your hair, quit smoking before it falls out or turns grey. Your complexion will improve as well. Relapse is all part of recovery. If you do smoke again, you will feel guilty afterwards. Write down your negative feelings about smoking after the cigarette and then read them the next time you crave one. Good luck.

I wish i could quit again...but I have never heard that smoking causes hair loss, but wrinkled skin, i have heard of that.
I quit smoking for 7 months, but i started back up having the occasional swisher sweet when I got drunk..then I was back to smoking regularly again.

BTW I am more worried what it is doing to my lungs then anything...

Nah, cutting down has never worked for anyone I've ever met. Just decide to stop and you're free. Simple as that. I felt no withdrawal or any nasty symptoms anytime I quit anything. I really dunno whats wrong with you people.

Find a pack of 'low birth-weights'. You gotta pick choose your brand if you don't want cancer.

It does. There are increased levels of DHT in smokers. Also, nicotine itself causes vasoconstriction... the blood supply to hair follicles is jeoparidized. If you haven't had a cigarette for a while, hold your thumb out and pinch the tip, including the nail, for a few seconds with the thumb and index finger of your other hand. Notice it only takes a few seconds for the red color (blood) to return under the thumb nail. Now, smoke a cigarette and repeat the experiment... take note of the increased amount of time it takes for the blood to return.

I hate cigarettes.
I want one so bad... but i have to be strong.
The positive outcomes, like not getting cancer, completely outweigh the feeling of getting a nicotine fix but it's still so hard.

That sucks...I've never been addicted to cigs so I really can't give any real advice. A lot of people who have never smoked go "ahhh common just quit its easy blah blah blah" But I imagine its harder than that...so I'll keep my mouth shut.

I was a pack a day smoker for 5 years. Tried quitting many times like you've said and it was tough but that was because I had no self-control or enough will to stop. Than i decided in november or so that i would enjoy cigarettes for the rest of year and then that would be the end. If you can't stick to your own promise you're disrespecting yourself. You'll even feel... more alive after quitting. You'll probably see that there is really nothing beneficial from smoking cigarettes. stopping cold turkey is best way to quit IMO. hope this helps. peace

After 18 years you tend stop feeling a buzz and just continue killing your body. You should respect your body because it's doing no good for it and doing nothing for your mind except relieving your cravings which you shouldn't have in the first place. It's an unhealthy addiction, sorry i try to see what's actually true and correct myself. And since your smoking for 18 years makes your opinion on quitting better than mine? At a pack a day i still believe i have experienced what it is like to be addicted nicotine.

Everything kills you in some way because your using your body (wear and tear) but many benefits can come from what's killing you... smoking doesn't do that. You are quite the close minded individual where you think a newbie to a WEBSITE makes an opinion less valid, what a mature thought. I wish you luck if you ever try to quit smoking cigarettes, just trying to help you see a bigger picture man. Peace

you disappoint me man. all im trying to do is help you but you saty in your close-minded world where you want to hate on some with a low post count. my post count has no correlation with my intelligence... did you bother to think about that. if you don't like my take on quitting than just say so, but don't question my validity on a subject due to amount of cigarettes smoked and post counts. ever hear of qualitative versus quantitative?

I'm so glad I didn't pick up the baccy habit.

It's funny, I tried so hard to start smoking in like, junior high.

I think I must be allergic to nicotine though, because I could never get a tolerance at all. To this day, if I smoke a whole cigarette I'd probably throw up. A few hits gets me dizzy.

I can smoke cocaine or heroin all night, but I can't smoke a whole cigarette.

What the fuck is that all about?
