You have decades and decades of life to live without college. Why not take advantage of a mere four years right now while you can?
Dropping out seems shortsighted.

I dropped out of college after my first 6 months and thought that was a great plan. Then years later I was like, FUCK, I'm starving and destitute and working for peanuts at a job with no chance of advancement. So I went back and finished. Now I'm not starving and destitute anymore, have a "real job", but truthfully I hate it. But, when you look at the big picture its not a bad trade off... At least my stomach isn't growling anymore...

i mean, to really gauge if it's a good idea or not, post some of your art and material. let us, the populace, decide if your artistic merit can stand water? because it seems that you're basing your whole decision/business plan off of it.
why not just start now? i think the shroomery could be a pretty good judge of quality let us decide your future :P

Tuition will never go down. So dropping out now means that if you ever decide to go back it will cost you even more.

Oh no, not at all on the same eschelon as Jimi and Vaughn. Not EVEN close. However they were used as examples of inspiration, as proof you don't HAVE to have college AND can be great.
I said in a previous post, though, a college degree will make it easier for success to find you.
my main point was, unlike Surgery, Art information is FREE. And the hands on practice the comes with art is generally safe; I don't want a self-taught surgeon practicing on me. ALL the shit they teach you in Art College can be gotten for free. It will take possibly the same ammount of work (or even more) to extract and find the information, however you wont be in debt.
I see your point dude, however I can't really say there is a yes or no answer on the subject entirely.
In your world, is this a "Whatever works for you" type thing?
I tell people: I'm Rich,I don't have a lot of money, and I'm happy.
What makes you think I am not an Arteest? I have all the credentials: I like cock, glide around the room trying too hard trying to enrich people's lives, and rubbing horsehair on paper.

I had to drop out because i got laid off and my wife was having our 2nd kid. I don't think i have ever felt better about anything before. Let me explain.
I had been thinking for a long time on whether college was worth it or not. I realized i wouldn't make more money, i would just be getting into a more specialized job. My wife went to college for 6 years to get her degree, and i make more money than she does. (well did till i got laid off.) She didn't even have a better job than me. As far as work went, we were both pretty much happy in the places we were in. She has a job that would never lay her off, so i guess she did have that 1 up on me. I asked some people where i did work if the went to college or not. I couldn't believe it, but a lot of them did and i was making more money than they were. Plus my job was easier. One of the guys i work with has his doctorate in Psychology. 8 years and alot of money waisted he told me. I would be happy being a security guard somewhere, or being a manager in a store. Some store managers where i work never went to college and they make 60+ a year. Granted they worked their way up there. Anyways, I say do what you want. Do what makes you happy. When i quit going, even tho it was not even a option to stay, i felt a great weight lift off my shoulders. Have you ever watched clerks 2? I came to that realization. Some people couldn't be happy doing that, but for me, I'm so much more mellow and happy. I own my a big house, 2 cars, i have 2 kids and a loving wife. We have 3 pets and pamper them when we can. We might not be rich, but we are happy.
