if you got a wal-mart near you you can find jars, they all carry them. go over too kitchen supplys and there will be a specific section for food preservation. they should be around the middle of the isle.

yess they will, but look harder. They aren't that hard to find. If you can't find any buy tapered cups and use them instead.

I have used jam jars without any problem. What matters is that there is a rubber seal inside the lid so it can be shut airtight for sterility and that it is TAPERED.

If you can pressure cook them they should work. I would put an over sized piece of tyvek under the lid to keep contams out.

yes they are half pint jars just a bit smaller in diameter and taller
