erratic pinset and fruiting

I've been doing the same style of casing now for about 3-4mnths. I use colonized rye berries to spawn composted manure and case with a 50/50+. I'm not really complaining, I'm getting great harvests. But the pinning and fruiting is very erratic, I never have a "flush", it's just a continuous and constant cycle until the substrate is spent. Like right now for instance, I have 4 tubs cased that have pins, tiny fruits, immature fruits, and fruits breaking veil all together in the same tub. Anyone else experience this?

For me it has always been about timing. Like,I start with my grains, sterilized and let sit. I then get my syringes going and let the spores hydrate for a day, then knock the grain up up. I have had the best experiences with speedy spawn by using syringes made by me and hydrated just prior to the knock up. When the grain gets near fully colonized you start pasteurizing your poo, as soon as the poo is cool. Mix the grain (very active at this point) and the poo. I let it sit in my DT setup until that is fully colonized, then case with 50/50 TEK. About a week and a half later you should remove bags from around your DT and allow FAE. This will trigger a pinset.
(you have to read about double tubs, there cool)
The point is to keep the growth active, from the syringe and grain, through the substrate stage.
Let me know if I should post some teks, but I think its really about timing and making sure you don't let the growth go stagnant at any stage.

Don't laugh, (I'm not a computer guy be any means) there's a pic of one of the tubs in my gallery, I don't know how to post it. That tub just started fruiting in the last couple days, hopefully you can see the pins throughout.

All you have to do is single click on the url section under you pic in the gallery. Then type ctrl-C where you want it to appear in the thread. That will make a picture link in a thread. You 'll see, it will say "coppied" when you put your mouse on the url link and single click. You don't have to use the link icon or anything.

B4B, everything I've done for last few months has been from a MS LC, before that I was using MS PF cakes (break up the cakes) to spawn the Hpoo. Up until recently I've been very pleased with my harvests, but not anymore. I'm changing direction, I 'nocked up a bunch of PF jars with 4 different varieties, and I ordered a boatload of lab supplies, antibiotic malt agar and petri dishes. I'm going to start isolating and cloning, seems to be the "way" to get truly good results. Cheesekiller, thanks for the info.------------There are alot of good people in this forum.

resptodd you are on the right track. the best way to get them all to fruit at the same time is to start from a clone.

you guys ever hear of patch casing? next time when ur casing... put the casing layer on just enough to cover the top then spread evenly wait three days then cover all the white spots with fresh casing mix. wait three more days then fruit.... your pinset should be even.

Woah, Woah, Woah!!!-----Yes,---------I read your post.---I was just eating dinner.---The pic I have in my gallery, and 3 more like it, has 2 good layers of casing, I've never thought of doing more--it's all worked out fine. My casings have always produced well for me (just not in the conventional "flush" manner). That's why I posted the question.--------By the way, Don't push me!

patching is key to poorly colonized casing layers.

didn't mean anything by it... just makin sure ya understand thats all... you don't need clones or anything of that sort that really dosn't have anything to do with it... it about letting the colonization of the casing layer catch up... when you cover the spots after the first three days it allows the mycelium to catch up in ur casing layer. so that it spreads evenly across the surface. give it a try the next time
