My main concern is lighting placement, whether or not me moving into my closet and using the flo. light alredy in there is ok.. or houldI buy a seperate moble flo stick and mount it elsewhere.

they will tend to grow torwards the light but putting foil on the one side will only reflect the light and make matters worse IMO. (not that its a bad problem). if you've done everthing right tha lighting will not determine your pinset but as they mature they will tend to grow in that direction. not a big deal.

Okay blood thanks. Like everyone here, I've been putting hours of work in since day 1 of my first grow and I just want to make sure I have everything right so I don't waste money and time. I know shit happens but I want to keep rookie mistakes to a minimum.

yeah, I started Jan 29th, probably spend 5 hours a day reading and put at least 20 actual work hours into this 1st grow... while working 55 hours a week and raising a 9 year old, but thats neither here or there. I'll def owe it all to the people who have gave there advice to me and all the old timers who wrote the teks if I get a nice grow. And I'm just getting started.

do you guys think black paper would be beneficial to put on the sides of the FC (yay i know what it means now) or is just semi-translucent (like.. clear plastic) all-around fine?

Black paper should work if its a clear tub, about 1/2 way.

Black absorbs light, so don't put it anywhere above the substrate line. If you want to reflect light, use white or foil. I'd suggest getting your light closer to the fruiting chambers. While 'any old light will do', bright fluorescent light from a nearby fixture will stimulate a much better pinset than dim light from far away. RR

That being said, I'll probably line my cear Fc's with black paper to the substrate line, use my existing ceiling flourescent lights and be confident it'll work just fine.
End of thread.
