I wish they could just be eradicated off the face of the earth.

Something to do with evolution, ecosystems and a food chain or something. Or are we talking about computer viruses?

well, insects are more simplified and adaptable forms of life than more evolved and subsequently more specialized organisms like us.
We would be infinitely times more likely to become extinct before almost any insect.
Not that you should like it. human.

actually, humans are not specialized. we've taken over the earth because WE are the adaptable organism. many insects are highly specialized like bees and other pollinators and dung beetles.
i'm pretty sure when the next great extinction comes along, we're not the only ones who'll be fucked.

This is an insect planet.
"Ten years ago there were approximately 750,000 named insect species. Today, that number is over 1,000,000. And according to a recent article in Scientific American, entomologists estimate that there are likely over eight million different species of insects on Earth. When you compare that to 4,650 named and 4,809 estimated mammal species or the 72,000 named and 1,500,000 estimated fungi, it is easy to see that insects "out-populate" any other living taxonomic group on Earth." http://www.riverdeep.net/current/2002/03/030402t_insects.jhtml
They are probably wondering why we exist.

the funny thing is...
because of humanity the biggest organisms are dying off and the small ones are increasing in numbers
and if everyone would just stop being a pussy and quit killing all your household spiders than im sure there would be less insects around

Seeing as how bugs more or less made the soil that you use to get food....I'd think they are a little important

Take a look outside...
Do you think all that top soil is natural or something? It's not.
Soil is made by the countless "bugs" that live in it (along with bacteria, another kind of "bug"). Before there were bugs, there were very few things that could grow at all.

I'm sure the microscopic bugs (bacteria) are sufficient.
