A True Reverie
    #8041025 - 02/18/08 11:50 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

Humans are beautiful. We are the outcome of millions years of perfection through evolution from a common ancestor. But instilled in us is a sense of individualism. Comparatively from a genetic standpoint, all individuals of the human race are 99.9% similar. We share all the same genes, regardless of race, religion, identity, etc. We are, in a whole, a genetic copy of each other differentiated by a few different base pairs. You might have one more Adenine in your DNA than I do, or I may have one more Guanine in my DNA than you do. But in an essence, we are a large community, a huge infrastructural organism. We need each other, depend on each other, breathe the same air, and eat produce from the same Earth.

But, shockingly enough, we hate each other. Jealousy and hatred fuel our needs and our wants. We want more, but we especially want more than our neighbor. We want friends, but in building our own cliques we exclude others. There are the 'cool' kids in high school, the fraternities and party crews in college, the red carpet celebrities of Hollywood. But where does the Average Joe stand? Where does he belong? The working class citizen makes up the largest group of individuals in America, yet we fantasize about Brad Pitt's new haircuts.

What people don't realize is that everyone is beautiful. Everyone's life is worth something.

The reason I am posting this is because I am so sick and disgusted by our mass media. Television is an industry that enslaves us. We sit blank-eyed on our sofas absorbing the wasteful, useless information hand fed to us by an electric monitor of motion pictures.

Fuckin' disgusting.

I just want everyone to know that you are beautiful. Break your mirrors and turn off the television. Embrace humanity.
