Puerto Ricans take forever!!!

I have successfully grown the P.R.'s once before using the PF tek, now on my second go, I broke the cakes up and did a verm. casing layer. (rH is 90%, temp. 76) I have read that once pins form it is a matter of days until a mature mushroom is formed. In my experiences, the P.R.'s pin quickly, but it takes often 7-10 days to get a full grown mushroom. Why do mine grow so slow? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed things up?

Maybe the conditions inside your terr. are not up to par? That could play a big problem in the growth. I would try and get a hydrometer and check the humidity and what not. Make sure your casing is nice and moist and you should be cool. Or maybe your just inpacient?

I would say your on the right track. PR's just take forever, the mushrooms are not even big. But they are potent. I am going to stop growing PR's, and just put a print in the fridge until I feel like wasting my time again.
