The next knuckle-brain that slams science and/or calls it faith while using their computer to do so will push me over the edge. Do you want that on your conscience?

But science IS based on faith. P.S. I did not send this response via my computer and can prove it.

All advanced technology was given to us by extraterrestials, OC, didn't you know that? The same extraterrestrials who built the pyramids and planted all world leaders in power throughout the course of history. Science is faith in those great beings, as all innovation is by their grace.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Science is not BASED on faith. Some people may hold onto it faithfully, but others understand it is a series of recordings of repeatable observations. Faith is not required, the observed phenomena will occur whether or not you (or everyone at the same exact time) believe otherwise.
Faith must be derived from personal experience, not blind belief. To me, faith is equivalent to confidence.

False. Science is fully aware that a thing cannot be definitely proven to be true. A million experiments can add to the body of evidence supporting a hypothesis, but a single experiment can still turn the whole thing on its head and bring you back to square one.
Science is not based on faith. There are people who use faith when approaching scienific problems, but this leads very quickly to skewed results. The Big Bang is an example of a scientific model that too much faith is placed in. We ignore math, fudge numbers, and invent types of matter just to keep the evidence from indicating that there may not have been a big bang. So yes, there are misguided people who practice science based on faith.
But please don't say science is based on faith; it's simply not true. Science is based on formulating hypotheses, collecting data that support or undermine that hypothesis, and revising the hypothesis accordingly. Science is a process which will lead the practictioner incrementally closer to an accurate model of whatever phenomenon they're considering (without ever getting there! this is an important point).
Science based on faith makes about as much sense a huffing jenkem.
