The Harvest...

Hey Buddy Faces...I just harvested the first flush from a WBS and vermiculite casing.I just recased it and wondered if those baby pins that fell back down from the bigger fruits would remain growing after the recase.
This strain is GT but I'm hoping for bigger ones in the next flush.I am not the best photographer but here are a couple of shots..

Sorry I am a newbie unfortunately...this is my first grow. I have to do it this way though because the liberty caps are extremely hard to find in Norway and it is saving me alot of money when I trade it for green...

Hey I'm in Bergen but from New Orleans originally. On the outskirts of that low lying plain is a plethora of wild ones..probably mostly Mexicana...huge...but here in Norway I find alot of Pantherina?..something..and..amanitas but I found liberty caps at the cabin outside of Voss...Nothing special or abundant but I hear they slay ass..
This is before I plucked them...with my teeth...they didn't even begin to blue!:D
Here are a couple of shots of the harvest..It's half wet and weighs at 20 grams so I suppose it isn't that shabby..

A little info on my backround in growing is trying the vermic. and brown rice flour in whiskey glasses---everything was sterile but the sh it stank like the death of a thousand dicks anyway so i tossed it.
One big patch of mycelium would grow on the cakes and stop and then proceed to rot I guess..
Then I just jumped to popcorn seeds and WBS and I got 2 contaminants out of atleast 18 jars only because I put them into my CPU with loose polyfill HAHA ...
Now I just have 2 casings ..one with WBS and one with popcorn..I'm planning on tossing them into the compst as soon as they're finished. I have been bagging them as a fruiting device but any tips or advice is gladly appreciated.
I am being a chatterbox but oh well. Thanks for your cooperation

Ok I had a question earlier but i don't think it got through...,maybe because I am as high as a doorknob...who knows?
My popcorn and vermic. case hasn't channeled yet so I guess I should leave it at incubating temp.
My WBS from above is pinning and I had to move it in a dark colder place for a day---Just wondered if this affects it in a bad way...

It should be fine.. may of slowed it down a bit over a day or so with the cooler temps..but I don't think it's anything to worry about.. good luck and keep up the great work!

the more room they have to grow i would say they bigger they tend to get in my experience also if you use a small layer of myc they tend to be smaller too

ok cool...I heard overlay was bad so this one has some mycelium creeping upwards in small patches on the recase layer..This is the recased WBS one with vermic...doing fine...
But the first flush was amazing and it looked pretty overlayed..haha man someone link me to some good looking casings so I know what those fools are supposed to look like...
I have received a half used colonized jar of popcorn for this second case ...its grew mostly back but it didn't channel so I wonder if i should set that one back where it was.it's in a much warmer temp. now I had it in a colder place before
..oh man...wine...zopiclones and hash haha..forgive me...
Ok so I am a chef and have pretty much slayed ass in being sterile and what not I just need a damn pressure cooker for the agar project-needed to also know what i can use besides petri dishes
Also someone mentioned the environment....should i use a bigger bag to fruit them in? I got a 600-1300 wat heater thingy I dont know how hot that is but i can hook that up into a box with tubes for air exchange maybe?
Can i flip the casing over and try to get that side to fruit.?

Shit...I just wondered why you incubate the casing and then fruit it in the same temp...that is weird...
Humididty changes? Once Chambered ?
I am going to get on ya'lls nerves with all of these questions but it is interesting these little pin head size knobs of mycelium grow upwards into little ball looking things and I get scared that it ia overlay but the lil shit starts popping out pins like a clown car..

i dont think space to grow has much to do with getting big mushrooms, its just about amount of nutrients and water. next time you can take your colonized wild bird seed and spawn it to another nutritional source (coir, manure), let that colonize then case it. that will give you bigger yields, and fewer aborts.
you should incubate your casing at a warmer temperature than the fruiting temp. that drop in temperature triggers pins to form.
so your a chef? thats cool. maybe you oughta invent some good no-bake recipes for mushrooms to share with the shroomery. its lookin good so far man, good luck with your future grows.

Alright buddy heads..
2nd flush got pounded by Pussy Boots...3rd is in the process of fruiting. They do extremely well in room temp. bagged...It,s the GT and WBS...
I think the popcorn one is still colonizing the casing-It's in a dark spot.
I am about to start collecting baby food jars and turning tricks to get a pressure cooker...Everything in Norway costs an arm and a leg.
Thanks for your cooperation -Jenbag
