The truth is, when you have insurance, they charge more.
I went to a simple doctors' appointment without health insurance, and I was billed less! With insurance is $80. Without it was $45!

It really depends with insurance it's not up to them what they charge that has everything to do with the Insurance company and what they charge for co-pays, with in net work or out of net work dentist.
But because you don't have insurance you will have to pay full price for whatever, unless they decide themselves to not charge you full price they may offer to help. If you had an abscess I really doubt they would turn you away I'm sure they would work with you considering the infection could kill you. Call around explain your situation, don't tell them how much you have but just explain your situation, I know people who had dentist pay for someones braces because they couldn't afford them. You try and look to sign up for something like Medicare.

That makes no sense, considering when you go for a check up you just pay the co-pay. For me it's $10 That is for a normal check up, testing would be more and then it would depend on what percentage of what procedure they cover and so on.

most likely a place will put you on a payment plan where you can pay it off biweekly or monthly for 3-4 months. Im not sure in your area, but I dont have dental insurance either. I broke a tooth last week, and Im going to get it checked out Thursday. Ive gone to this dentist for 20 years though, so I dont know how much it will be. I just need to remember that if they want to put me under, I need to take gas and not any caine.

A lot of people go to the doctor with a fake name and address, they still have to treat you, the bills come later.
I don't see why it wouldn't work at the dentists office as well.
