religion..I consider my self a transcendentalist I guess(an atheist that does dr00gz lol). But I'm still bitter about being lied to about religion. I'm still picking up the pieces, deconversion is a nasty ordeal. But I guess through chaos comes through order. Anybody out there that had a similar situation that got out of the bitterness and started to enjoy life again leaving the past in the past? I was gonna say more stuff but I'll leave it like this I guess... KthxBye!!

I personally don't believe or associate with organized religions, I've found them from personal experiences to be hypocritical bastards. You'll grow up man, times change.

Im not entirely sure about leaving the past in the past, but meh its hard to not let some old morals/traditions from ones past religious-type practices leak into ones current atheist actions. For me the transition was slow and gradual i guess. The more i thought, the more i changed.
My early education from ages 5-9 had a Religious Education (anglican christianity) part to it. I had loose beliefs then, by the time i was 11 i had pretty much forgotten about all that, and my interest in christianity was just that, an interest, then by the time i was 14 i considered myself agnostic. and now after much hallucinogenic drug use i'm probably a full blown atheist. Vision for other people which a deeply religious, mystical and ego-removed i interpret (for me) to be ego and past driven hallucinations, lunacy driven random visions, and drug-induced insanity. For me its all for fun, i love watching the pretty colours shapes and objects and creatures. This doesn't mean to say i'm not open to the idea of other people having genuine experiences. But for me, that is how i interpret it.
As for living happily as an atheist, well there are always sad moments in life whatever you are. But day to day its good to stick to logical common morals yet fulfill as much of your hedonistic preferential actions as possible.
For instance, I've retained much of my morals from my past: no killing, stealing, cheating on partners etc... but i also love sex out of wedlock, drugs, gluttony when i'm blazed, and sloth on sleepy recovery sundays
