I have been having some "visions" from it that started in this past year. My friends think I'm nuts but whatever.

what type of visions come from collective consciousness?
-------------------- Man is timid and apologetic; he is no longer upright; he dares not say "I think," "I am," but quotes some saint or sage. He is ashamed before the blade of grass or the blowing rose.Man postpones or remembers; he does not live in the present, but with reverted eye laments the past, or, heedless of the riches that surround him, stands on tiptoe to foresee the future. He cannot be happy and strong until he too lives with nature in the present, above time TRANSCEND

Very serious ones.
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

And the Collective Superconscious is just plain
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. I have random moments were everything becomes really significant and then whoever or whatever im with(living things) i gain this extreme attatchment to it/them emotionally and mentally.
Its really kinda hard to explain.

I know what you mean. I experience this quite often, almost like delusions of reference, but not quite. It's not like I think the guy on the TV is talking directly to me, because the government is sending secret messages to me through his news script. That would be unhealthy. But more like "I'm driving down the road, and I see a name of a business that, in my mind, I can relate to something relevant in my life. Is it coincidence? Am I creating it in my mind? Did "something" align it to happen?

i'm not sure what you mean by "contacting" you. you are a thread making up part of the collective, therefore, maybe you are just becoming more aware of it and are tapping into things that have always been there but you did not recognize before

Yeah, I often wonder if there often aren't sign posts along the way (synchronicities) to guide a person, if only they are aware enough to see them. Then again, I fear that I might be delusional at times as well, having suffered a psychotic break before. I have to wonder, am I nuts (because not many others perceive these type of things in their lives), or am I onto something that very few get onto? "Many are called, few are chosen" type deal.
I realize that true spirituality and mystic experiences are experienced by the minority, and that the further you get along the path, the more lonely it gets, and all that. But there is another more rational side of me that wonders if I'm not mentally unhealthy. Then I think that too many people throughout history have corroborated my experiences. I just go back and forth out of fear.

You mean, "Many are called, few choose to be chosen"...otherwise it's nonsensical. I don't think there's much truth behind this idea, though it sounds nice. There are just so many dedicated seekers, psychedelic users and otherwise, who have had only the faintest glimpses of what they're looking for. And there are many who just don't seem to be born into circumstances where they would seek religious experiences. Is it because they did not really listen to the call, or just that their experiences happened to led them a different way?

I wonder if this is really the case. I think most people experience loneliness at times, and interconnectedness at others.

This is just more of the metaphysical ideology that I often think about, but can find no basis is this reality for it. But it sounds nice and makes a lot of sense to me. Your quote sort of describes the Vedic caste system. We have certain experiences that, if responded to correctly (choosing to be chosen), allow us to work out karma, which get us ready for the experiences we are talking about. So all in all, everyone is working towards those experiences, whether in this life time or not. I'm not really answer your question, but talking about the implications of it. I would say that "listening to the call" is an ability that one must be capable of performing. Gaining the ability is one stage, using it is another stage. So really, it's all a part of the same work. Some are simply in different stages.

I agree with you, that all experience lonliness at varying, with the possibility of equal intensities. But I mean, more of an existential lonliness. Being lonely, knowing you are lonely, watching and analyzing the loneliness, and being it to the extreme depths. It may feel the same, but is in a different class. That's kind of what I was getting at. Too, a person may refine himself to a point where he sees through much of the delusions of the mind that others do not, and watches them act in reactance to their own delusions. He sees their delusions, and sees why they act in that way, and it really takes the authenticity out of their "re"-actions, leaving them to be perceived much like animals or robots in a way. That is the lonliness I speak of.

Ah.
That can be funny too, though.
edit: didn't see the first part of your response... As Ram Dass says, every living being is on an inevitable path toward enlightenment. Because that's who we are.

Yeah. It's kind of grim, for me, because the reactions I see usually just dig people deeper into suffering.
But what is awesome is finding other's who are "clear" as well. It's so refreshing not to be projected upon, placed into roles, etc.
Thanks for the convo Back to writing a paper for class!
