X-Box Troubles; Flashing Red and Green

A while ago (2 years or so), the power supply on my XBox (v1.0 or v1.1, not sure) fried during a nasty thunderstorm we had (power surge), and since then, it's just been sitting in my closet because I was too lazy to fix it.
Recently, I decided to fix it and ordered a power supply off eBay. It arrived today, so I stuck it in and had it working without any troubles at all. I stopped playing about 15 minutes after I started, since there was a glare on the screen from the sun, and it was really obstructing my view.
I tried to turn it back on a little later, and it wouldn't. It tries to twice, and then on the third try, it stays on and flashes red and green around the CD's Eject button. I've done some quick googl'ing to try and see if I could find the problem, but 90% are about people who've modded their's and fucked up the soldering or something, which doesn't help, since this one isn't modded. I'm not looking to mod it, I just want to get it working again. I came across a page that says something with the BIOS may be fucked up, but I have no clue on how to flash them, or how to even replace them. Anyone have any advice on this? I just want to get it working again so it isn't.. well, useless.

Well, opening it to replace the power supply voided the warranty, so that's no longer an option.
And, just for future posters, this is just a regular XBox, not a 360.

First off, he has a Xbox. Secondly, opening either the Xbox or the Xbox 360 automatically voids the warranty. Thirdly, it's probably out of warranty anyways. Also, it never should have taken that long to get yours back. I sent mine back a week ago and it is due back next Tuesday or Wednesday. To the OP: Make sure the IDE cable is plugged in on the motherboard, hard drive, and dvd drive.

You can still probably send it back, it's just going to cost you for the repairs. Still probably cheaper than buying a brand new one.

I doubt that. They pretty much won't touch it if it has been opened. Plus v 1.0,1.1 are really old. 2001 or 2002.

Its FRAGed (Flashing Red And Green). If I remember correctly that code flashes because it cant load a bios. It sounds like more then the power supply was damaged. Id go to xbox-scene if I were you, Im sure they could help alot better then the shroomery could.

My guess, 'cause I see it all the time... they sent you a refurbished power supply that didn't get properly fixed... most service parts carry a warranty for 90 days or so. Don't wait this time...

come on... buy a new one... they are like 50 dollars.... check the error code first...
ALSO>>>> try putting it outside in the cold for like 20 mins... I have no clue as to why but a friend of mine had a similar problem.. it would come on then go off, then come on, then go off.. but would never work..unless it sat outside in the cold. we still had to chip it to get it to function without being cold.
