Yes, he does his own album art. The print he signed was the cover of Past is Prolouge.
I got into him when I was looking for similar artists to BoC. He's about as close as it gets, with nature and childhood sounding samples. I enjoy Tycho more sometimes though, because he is easier on the ears and more chillout.

I've been experimenting a little with some ambient music creating.
I play guitar mostly, and I've been finding it a bit difficult to make really decent sounding ambient electric guitar music.

Deranger,
>better quit worrying, because it's just going to get worse for you. might as well just accept the inevitable.
Actually, I think the inevitable you will need to accept is that a lot of artists you enjoy will no longer be releasing music if it means they have to do so at a loss.
You know, it's not like any of us _have to_ put the music out there.
The same problem is affecting newspapers, magazines, and soon movies too. All creative content makers. No matter how much people say they expect stuff to be "free" on the web, it costs money/time/resources to create these things. Without the resources, creation will dry up, as people will have to seek another way to make a living. Pretty obvious really.
A lot of people choose to support the labels and artists they like. I'm just here to emphasise to people that this really is something they have to seriously consider, not just some whining by rich major label fatcats. Dakini, and many of the other labels being traded here, only manage to survive because we do have a base of loyal customers who support us. (Barely.)
People who like to file-trade always tend to talk idealistically about "sharing". Well, my question is, what do you share with the artists? The label? Seems like all take and no give from my perspective, and that sure ain't sharing...
Don't mean to come off as flaming, and I'm perfectly willing to continue this discussion.
Cheers,
Gio

Middleman,
Glad you like the album, brother. And thanks for supporting the label.
And I def. agree that mp3 sound quality sucks!!! Which is one reason we're still doing cds... that, and the graphics, which we love...
Unfortunately, not everyone shares your attitudes. Sales are WAY DOWN, for us and for every label I know. When someone does a web search for an album and the first ten results that come up are for free ripped downloads, well, it's no mystery why. It's like voting -- everybody thinks they're just one person and their actions have no consequences ... but multiply that by thousands or tens of thousands. And you have the current situation where music is being starved of resources to continue production.
> so I suggest you contact the file hosting sites directly.
Done.
>I'm a musician and completely understand the dilemma but I do not think the war against file sharing can be won so the business model must be revised.
I don't think it can be "won", but on the other hand I don't know a single label that isn't so pissed off with their music being ripped that they aren't doing anything about it ... people have been talking about revising the business model for years now ... still no silver bullet. And do we want our musicians spending their days dreaming up new business models or new trax? Something to consider...
>Just wait till bandwidth increases and people start sharing lossless audio as easily, then who will be able to afford any gear? Live performers only, I guess.
Live electronic performers don't need gear -- they just hit "play" ;-)
>Outstanding production, thanks for dropping by
Cheers.

Penguarky,
>I've spent more money on CDs because of this thread than I ever, EVER would have. Not to mention I've convinced my close friends to do the same. Last week a friend and I placed a $200 order with Ultimae.
Cheers. They're a good label and they need the support.
>Makyo, you probably won't come back to read this, but I'll say it anyway: While I have the utmost respect for your label and your talent of producing music, leaving messages like this (aka, your very first post) on a forum that is perhaps perfectly in-tune with the message you're trying to get across through your music is insulting. If you would have actually read the thread thoroughly, you would have realized that most every post made by a member in this thread have found the links on file hosting sites external to this one.
With all due respect, if I took the time to read every forum that had my albums up on it, I wouldn't have much time left in the day. Please try considering it from that perspective. And furthermore, this is the first forum where my comments haven't been erased and my ISP blocked within 30 min. from posting. Most places just don't want to hear that the artist may not be happy with the arrangement, and are quite quick to just ban you from accessing at all.
>As Middleman said, we are simply providing links already found on these external sites. What's the difference between posting the links or saying "hey, people, to find these albums, simply type in the artist name, album and 'rapidshare'"? No, though, right? It's pretty convenient to just do it here.
Got it. FYI we are blocking the links as we find them. Anyone who legitimately wants to preview the album can do so on our website. Our tracks are streamed pretty constantly on soma.fm as well, a highly recommended internet radio station...
>On a more positive note, your Tribal Matrix 2 album is jaw-dropping in every category I can think of. Especially the last two tracks. Keep up the good work and I'll continue buying as much music as my bank account will allow.
Cheers. The support is appreciated. As I have been saying though, if support doesn't pick up, there will be no more good work to keep up. That is the reality for us. Doing my best to keep us afloat until the situation stabilises some and we again have a model that makes sense.
If anyone else here actually went out and bought cds/downloads after hearing stuff here, let me know. I'm open to feedback...
