Blue Sky Black Death - Late Night Cinema - 2008

Excellent album from a hip hop production duo called Blue Sky Black Death. Very dense, rhythmic, and progressive sound.

Hi,

This is Gio from Dakini Records (Makyo).

I'm glad you like our album, but I have to request that you NOT rip it and share with anyone via ptp.

Y'know, share with your friends, fine. But sharing with EVERYONE/ That's bad news for us.

Whatever you may think about "free music", it costs a lot of time and money to make an album, and the artists have to make a living. Other people who actually buy the music are making it possible (barely) for us to continue while people like you leech and think it should be free. Well, if sales go down any further, there just won't be any more music coming from us. And that's also true of Aleph Zero, Interchill, Ultimae, take your pick. How do you expect us to keep producing if we have no budget? Tribal Matrix 2 was a 3-4 month project for me, nearly full time... and recording my 2 tracks on the album took at least 80-100 hours per track. Mastering similarly took 4 full days to get it sounding just right. So when I see someone take this and rip it, it's like a kick in the face.

So I kindly request that you remove these links, and refrain from doing the same in the future. Support music. Share with your friends, if you must, but privately please.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Gio / Makyo

Wow hi Gio, big ups sir, Tribal Matrix 2 is incredible.

I would have never heard of TM2 if it was not shared in this thread and then ordered the CD because .mp3s are lame. That's the intent of this thread.

None of these files are hosted here on the Shroomery, we are only sharing links to file hosting sites that most of us have found already uploaded online.
I removed the links to TM2 but there is no way to monitor the content of off-site links so I suggest you contact the file hosting sites directly.

I'm a musician and completely understand the dilemma but I do not think the war against file sharing can be won so the business model must be revised.
I started this thread to share obscure albums for preview only, I could delete this thread but it would be like a bucket out of the river.

Just wait till bandwidth increases and people start sharing lossless audio as easily, then who will be able to afford any gear? Live performers only, I guess.

Outstanding production, thanks for dropping by. :sunny:

I've spent more money on CDs because of this thread than I ever, EVER would have.  Not to mention I've convinced my close friends to do the same.  Last week a friend and I placed a $200 order with Ultimae.

Makyo, you probably won't come back to read this, but I'll say it anyway:  While I have the utmost respect for your label and your talent of producing music, leaving messages like this (aka, your very first post) on a forum that is perhaps perfectly in-tune with the message you're trying to get across through your music is insulting.  If you would have actually read the thread thoroughly, you would have realized that most every post made by a member in this thread have found the links on file hosting sites external to this one.

As Middleman said, we are simply providing links already found on these external sites.  What's the difference between posting the links or saying "hey, people, to find these albums, simply type in the artist name, album and 'rapidshare'"?  No, though, right?  It's pretty convenient to just do it here.

On a more positive note, your Tribal Matrix 2 album is jaw-dropping in every category I can think of.  Especially the last two tracks.  Keep up the good work and I'll continue buying as much music as my bank account will allow.

:stoned:

i wouldn't have listened to tribal matrix 2 without this thread... and mp3's suck, i have every intention of buying the CD very soon, however you would not be making money from me or any friends i recommend it to without this thread. music makers need to understand, if a decent preview isn't available, most aren't even going to bother. there's plenty of good music i can preview and decide i like before buying... i preview music with threads like this. THIS is how i find my music and because it's all mp3, I will buying anything that i enjoy.. over 20 albums have been bought and more will be as well. If i hadn't seen this thread many artists such as yourself miss out on sales... it's a shame you don't want us to promote your product. however, no one else here is going to hear it and many won't bother reading all this jibberjabber. Why not share at least a preview of your music..

first off I find it a kick in the face that you think you know who we are and what our intentions are, without bothering to read the thread.. it's been stated many times that the purpose is to find music you like. it's been posted repeatedly that these albums are mostly from offsite links that people have found with a search on google or similar. Most people here and especially listeners of quality music such as your own don't bother with mp3's. MP3s suck, period... We just want to find some good music, because it's hard to find artists like yourself and want to make sure we don't blow our money on something we don't like.

secondly, I'ma part time musician and I worked in a sound studio for about 3 years. I understand FULL well, probably better than most, the time and money it takes to do a project like this, again why i buy the album. Now you as a musician need to understand that theres a huge sea of musician's and i don't give a shit about any until i've heard them, mostly because there's too many... very rarely do i check on a recommendation without an audio sample. luckily for you i DL'ed the album before it was removed and know i enjoy it, you will be seeing my money soon.

the unfortunate thing is there's so much good music on this thread it takes a while to collect the CD's, but bet your ass i want the quality and will be PAYING for it... as will many others around here.

sure there will be some that just don't care.. they will download and be happy with mp3 and not look back or think twice about what they've done. so what a few people got your album for free. A few more will be buying it, a few that wouldn't have anyway. you're only hurting yourself man..

better quit worrying, because it's just going to get worse for you.  might as well just accept the inevitable.

I didn't know he was a graphic designer...does he design his own album covers? I just started getting into him a few months ago after a friend on a hip hop forum recommended Past is Prologue. His music kind of reminds me of Boards of Canada.

Here's 2 new songs from him.
