Both are spiritual for me in different ways.
Mescaline is like -- there are ghosts all around us that we suddenly can perceive on this stuff. oh my god I am possessed by my ancestors!
Mushrooms are like -- life is a dream, the self is an illusion--buddhism.
Mushrooms make me buddhist. Mescaline makes me, i dunno, native american/ tribal ancestor worship, ghosts in the attic, bats in the belfry.

bingo. mescaline also has a very high desert-imagery component. even if i am indoors, no matter where i am, everything kind of looks like the desert.

word. I had the chance to partake in some while at Dinosaur Valley, this state park in Texas with shit tons of Dino prints/fossils/skeletons. Everything there resembled deserts. Trees looked a bit like cacti, sticks became friendly rattle snakes. ha ha.We went down to this really secluded river valley where some huge prints are visible in about 3 inches of river water. I sat in the water with my feet inside the Dino foot prints, they were truly massive( those herbivore dinos from Jurassic park, the long long necks...land before time...damn i forget what they are called) anyway.. while i was sitting there i had this visual cloud its way into my brain of Huge sentient beings stomping through this exact spot millions of years ago. Really put "time" into perspective for me, preceded to have a very very profound experience just contemplating the lives of our ancestors. great stuff.
And even being really far off baseline, i also found it so easy and natural to compose myself.

that sounds like a cool spot, i gotta check that out i didnt even know such a place existed in Texas .I love finding new amazing places to camp in texas and the surrounding states. I have been to Big Bend National Park and tripped, and that was an amazing experience. there was a very "living" quality to the rock formations that surrounded us in this deep basin we camped in, and i understood why they call it "los chisos" or the ghosts because they looked like they were all people or spirits of people and they were all gazing in. The Chihuahan desert is spectacular in so many ways, looking out at some of the largest expanses of desert from mountain tops, wandering the trails around the river, putting your hand on a petroglyph, where someone's hand was 10,000 years ago. its just an incredible feeling to be there.

The experience was absolutely amazing, it was a lot more "fun" than mushrooms in the sense a lot more laughter and giggles were involved. Yet, it seemed to lack the intense spiritual/philosophical introspection one gets from mushrooms. It seems to be a lot easier to act straight on mescaline, than it is on mushrooms. The fact that it's effects come in waves is enjoyable, but it's also deceiving because just when you think you're straight again, nope! By hour 10, it does get a bit exhausting and you're ready for the effects to wear off, but nope keeps going. Overall, I think for a "fun" experience mescaline lends itself much better, but for a more "spiritually enlightening" experience mushrooms seem more suited for that. This is all just opinion btw.
Thanks for the info, I plan on trying it for the first time in the near future. I like the part about being able to act straight on it, I know on lsd I was one who could never function in a place where people will be bothered if they notice I am all fucked up. Like a supermarket. I know others can, but I hope mescaline is a little different for me anyway.

With a really, really low dose, you might even enjoy a crowd.

I am looking forward to it. I will probably try it either alone or with one or two friends first, but depending on how it goes I might venture out to a bar or something. If not I will definitely on the second go around. Cant wait.

I have a good idea for you. Get your hands on some more mescaline, and take shrooms with it. I'm sure you're gonna' be set out for a different experience. Lol-godlike.

Speaking of acting straight on mushrooms you ever try to count money or place an order for something while on 3.5+ grams.

I love people on mescaline, as long as they are cool.
If you come across dicks, or people trying to take advantage of you they can really hurt your feelings.

Yea i agree. Some people just dont understand how open and vulnerable you can become. Someone really shook me up once and i had a horrible time trying to get out of the thought loop they caused. Luckily my friend saw my distress and the hug she gave me lit up the world again.

It's also harder to take a high dose of mescaline if your eating cactus than it is of shrooms. If you took a high dose, the experience would definitely change.
