Note: Once again I forgot the rules of Jeopardy - er P&S, wherein one must phrase a topic for discussion in the form of a question as it clearly states in the rules. Sorry, MM.
Well would ya to gain power or material possessions?

What is Crossroads, Alex?
I already sold my Soul to make a record. But I didn't sell it to the Devil.

No.... I like my soul, and have become quite attached to it....
The movie Crossroads (the one with Steve Vai) was a cool one.... Even though Ralph Macchio acted his way thru the guitar playing scenes....

Sure since I don't believe I have one.

If it was actually possible to sell your soul, then no.
But in high-school I sold my soul to some kid for a slice of pizza. True story.

i thought about making little cards that say "_____ will sell my soul to ____ for _____ dollars. i hereby have sold my immortal soul to _____."
or something in that vein and then see how many atheists actually dare to sign that shit. in the end i'd like to have dozens of souls in my wallet.

i'd offer to buy souls for a dollar. it would be a symbolic act/ritual: their spiritual essence for mere monitary values.

You can't sell souls, silly. Since they don't reside in the material realm, and money is worthless everywhere except the material realm. All souls are of the same soul anyway.

well, your soul is you.
you dont have a soul, you are a soul.
I really hope no one thinks they have an imaginary ball of energy residing somewhere in their vicinity at all times.
so to better phrase the question, would you sell your consciousness?

There is nothing individual that you can sell for anything material, apart from that which is material itself.
So you could sell yourself, become a slave, sell your body for sex etc...
But the soul people speak of is not an eternal entity individual from everthing else, its not YOUR's (as in your egos), the whole concept of soul is just your egos attachment to wantintg to be individually special when none of us are, except in human material form, originally we are all the same thing, we are all immortal, yet we are not separate from anything else.
What could be considered a soul is that life force/energy which gets rebirthed, as it was what it was, so can have memeories when it remanifest into a being, yet it is not that now, so how could it be the same thing/person, everything is forever changing impermanently, so there is nothing eternal except life itself.

alright mr jester
Lol yes, i just make shit up, i sit here all day thinking, what shall i make up 2day to try and make people belive total lies
that would be going against everything i beleive in.
I dont claim to be an authority on anything man please understand that, all i spread is what i understand as truth, through my minds experience.
My mind could just be making the whole thing up, along with the minds of all christians, buddhists Taoists & hindu's and anyone who has had similar experience
you have to understand i would never intentionally lie to you

OMFG I was just talking about this the other night. One of my friends offered to sell me his soul signed in blood, but would not take it in trade for a beer. I should have offered to buy shares in his soul like a 1/5th stake so that I could buy it over time of offering him beer for his soul.
as for my soul I already sold it. My friends say it has resale value but I've never been able to sell my soul again.

You keep missing the point again and again. The stuff you believe in is what is made up. You didn't invent it as much as adopted it from various sources.
BELIEVING SOMETHING DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUE. All it does is to preclude you from listening to anyone else.

Oops - to Orgo: First of all, I primarily would need a clear definition what we would understand under the term 'soul'. If it has something to do with 'free will' - prices rise accordingly how much the deal will compromises my intentional 'use' of it [free will]

If it is possible to sell my soul, there is nothing on any plane of existence that could get me to sell it. Have you ever had an out of body experience where it was just you as your soul? It's quite the experience, can also be very scary at first but you learn to go with it and have complete trust. The fact that someone even THINKS that their soul isn't worth as much said material gain really sickens me because like someone stated before, you are your soul IMO. Peace y'all.

i would have to say no because the christian soul may actually be our consciousness that exists outside the body when our bodies die.
as an agnostic i can wonder about these things without feeling guilty or foolish... peace
