humidity help
    #8025060 - 02/14/08 10:52 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I am using an ultrasonic fogger in my 10 gal terrarium w/ a perlite base. My digital and analog hygrometers are only reading 80%-90% humidity even though there is plenty of fog. I have it in a pint jar w/ holes in the lid and an air hose inside to get the fog circulating and it turns on for 15 mins every hour. Am i doing something wrong?

I got mine at a local pet store for $45. But I've heard you can get them cheaper on Ebay or something.

careful with the fogger man!
i used to use them all the time. I love those things.
when they get old
and the little thing in the middle cracks ,
its starts to get really hot!! like really hot
hot enough to burn plastic.it raise the temp inside allot

sounds to me like for a 10 gallon terrarium thats overkill. the perlite should work fine on its own. u have a pic of the setup?

I currently have one 25 gallon terrarium in use, but might expand. Would it be more ideal to A) use a cool mist humidifier and tube it into a terrarium(s)or B) use a fogger for the terrarium(s)?

Neither. Use perlite for terrariums.
