This is exactly why America is falling apart. We agree with anyone who appears to be an authority. This fantastic piece of sensationalist crap is no exception. I see this and it makes me sick to think how many people bought every word of it.
Walgreens sells bottles of caffeine pills, which, if consumed in mass quantities, can result in a meth-like high!
Ugh.

Well, the good Senator never bothered to return my phone calls as they promised. So I'm afraid that I have no first hand information on any continuing effort by Crist to pass legislation regarding salvia.

Quote:
When has prohibition ever made drugs harder to get or used less.
"American LSD usage fell sharply circa 2000, following a single major DEA operation. Because of the huge drop in LSD availability" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LSD#United_States
I think this is the only case where prohibition kinda worked. LSD is hard to make (if not chemically, then precursors are hard to obtain), so when someone who has the materials and know-how to kick out kilos goes down, it hurts everyone. Bad.
I have JUST been able to start finding Cid again, it goes for $10 - $25 a hit and if I want it I have to drive 45 min to get it.
EDIT: The $10 stuff sucks too.

That's a good point.
But if you look at the overall cycle it will reappear. But ya, due to the chemical skills required to produce it and greed taking hold it is not able to be produced as readily as something like weed, and it is cut so many times on the way to its user that it is much weaker. I unfortunately never had a chance to try the real stuff, I have had fun with the current LSD, but certainly its cause I don't have any platform of comparison other than other drugs.
I guess when it first became big it was so abundant (being produced for research in actual lab facilities) that it was not cut much and was cheap. Also that people like Leary wanted everyone to try it strong and get effected by it like he was.

I think it may be time to for me to give senator Crist another phone call. In addition to his continued efforts to illegalize possession of salvia he is now pushing a bill which will make it unlawful to allow a public restroom to run out of toilet paper and soap.
He's bugging me almost as much as the MO senator who was pushing to regulate baking soda sales in an effort to curtail crack cocaine manufacture.
