My Season & altitude theory:

(For UK Liberty cap)

Because the temperature is lower @ higher altitude, you will find early session shrooms at higher altitude, as the temperatures drops the shrooms are found @ Lower altitudes normally later on in the season. Last year I found shrooms in the first week of August @ a high altitude location.

The same also applies to north and south - north for early shrooms and south for late........

Yup, you've got it. As Mr Mushrooms stated, here in Colorado we can pick morels from April until June. I've even found them in mid-August. You can also start picking the autumn mushrooms early at high altitude.

Happy mushrooming!

... and I'm sorry that I wasn't interested in mushrooms when I spent an entire summer there. Those mountains are pretty high - I had breathing problems on Pikes Peak.
