lol you guys crack me up.

the tubes connect to the blue machine on the floor.
it circulates cold water (45*F) through that white brace.
the other hose is an air hose to add compression to the brace.

the thing on my bed is a CPM (continuous passive motion) machine.
it moves my leg up & down to help increase my range of
motion & decrease the chances of adhesions, scar tissue & deep vein thrombosis.
i have to be on these machines 6-8 hours a day. =/

i jacked my knee up during summer 06' working 2 physical
jobs. then continued to fuck it up more by snowboarding,
indoor rock climbing, dancing, hiking, hackysack, etc.
worked too hard. played too hard. now i pay the piper. :smirk:

I took a bad spill down a waterfall in a cave about 7 years ago, I was lucky that
the jagged rocks broke my 20 foot fall in pitch black. actualy I missed the rocks
by a few inches but landed in this lump of mud and pebbles in the middle of my
back, it had me fucked up for several weeks but nothing was broken.

take care of that knee, make sure she's on top, you dont need to exert yourself.

 AS

the procedures they did on me:
  • knee arthroscopy:

Arthroscopy (also called arthroscopic surgery) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which an examination and sometimes treatment of damage of the interior of a joint is performed using an arthroscope, a type of endoscope that is inserted into the joint through 0small incision. Arthroscopic procedures can be performed either to evaluate or to treat many orthopaedic conditions including torn floating cartilage, torn surface cartilage, ACL reconstruction, and trimming damaged cartilage.

The advantage of arthroscopy over traditional open surgery is that the joint does not have to be opened up fully. Instead, only two small incisions are made - one for the arthroscope and one for the surgical instruments. This reduces recovery time and may increase the rate of surgical success due to less trauma to the connective tissue. It is especially useful for professional athletes, who frequently injure knee joints and require fast healing time. There is also less scarring, because of the smaller incisions.

The surgical instruments used are smaller than traditional instruments. Surgeons view the joint area on a video monitor, and can diagnose and repair torn joint tissue, such as ligaments and menisci.

Arthroscopy is used for joints of the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, and hip.

  • (partial) synovectomy

Surgical removal of a part of synovial membrane of a synovial joint.

  • Chondroplasty (patella)

Chondroplasty refers to surgery of the cartilage, the most common being corrective surgery of the cartilage of the knee.

  • lateral release:
A lateral release is a surgical procedure to release tight capsular structures (lateral retinaculum)on the outer aspect (lateral aspect) of the kneecap. This is usually performed because of knee pain related to the kneecap (patella) being pulled over to the outer (lateral) side and not being able to run properly in the centre of the groove of the femur bone as the knee bends and straightens. The procedure is also known as a 'lateral retinacular release'.

thanks you guys & AS.

i'll be out of the norm for at least 1.5 months.

the great thing about the pain killers is that,
after i had come to, my doctor said that he
wrote me a script for vicodin, as he held it in the air,
like it was a treat for being such a champ

he must've not known, that his secretary phoned in the same
script the night before the surgery, of which i had already picked up after work
100 vicodin. =)
thats a good number if i do say so myself. =)
