Life is too short
I caint tell you how many people (Mainly adults) say that life is too short. What the fuck is it about this saying? It pisses me off as well and i caint quite explain why. Im only 18 (19 on monday!) But whenever i hear people tell me life is short, it kinda pisses me off. Is it a sign of deppression when people say this?
What do you think? Is life short? If I live to be 50 years old i will be amazed and grateful. Maybe its something that will change in time but if you ask me. Life is one of the longest things on this planet

Life often seems short because we obsess so much about past and future. I think when life as an embodied ego is finally over, it will be seen for what it was: a single instant. Nothing ever really happens. How could it?
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Life is just long enough.

I can't speak for being 50 but I can say when I reached 30 it seemed like the time from 20 - 30 went by one hell of alot faster than from 10 - 20.
Alot of times you hear "Life is too short" in regards to worrying about the small stuff. In which case it's true.

I think life is pretty fucking short. I don't say that in a bad way though.
Seriously, it seems like just yesterday when I was chasing down the ice cream man for a batman pop, now I'm mister grown up trying to get a career. Before I know it, I'll be mister adult pull-ups.

My father always told me that you blink twice and you're old.
So when you're old you will know. It just means that time aint reversing itself and the only time is NOW. So its like whoa NOW is NOW and i am OLD. The past was nothing. It no longer exists.

Life does go by pretty fast. I find that when I just chill out and accept what happens as it comes, it feels a lot more satisfying.
Everyone dies eventually, so it's something I've learned to accept in a way. I'm prepared to make the most of it, because you never know when it's your time to go either.

Walking down the road the other day, I said hello to an old woman that was shoveling her driveway. Along with letting me know that she did water aerobics at the local gym, she also advised me to find what I want and do it - right now. I believe she was 84 and she said it felt like she was my age (20) only weeks ago.
Once the snow melts, I'm backpacking.

life is going to seem much shorter to you when you're on your deathbed than it seems to you right now.
just make the best of it.

saying life is too short is the opposite of depression it affirms the hunger to live - no matter what comes this way.
life is too long would be depressive, as if one could hardly stand another moment.

here's a question for you. If life is too short what am I doing waisting my time on this forum discussing it? In my opinion I can't say life is too short. When I think about the question I am immediately as an above poster said drawn to the mistakes and great failures of my life, but no increase in length of life even seams desirable. When your a kid it seams like it is a forever in the future but when you grow up to adulthood it seams like your eternal dreams have died and the whole mess is taking forever. Then in the end when your old... well I'll get back to you on that one but don't hold your breath or else life will be too short.

well if you look at the universe and it's supposedly billions of years old, and then my life will be like up to 100 years or something, yea life is pretty fucking short. What these older people are saying I think, is that they have lived long enough to understand that there is something greater about life than the little petty problems people put their life energy into, when in the end it's not worth the trouble.

life is only too short because you never get to do everything you want to do.
youll die before you get it all done.

i believe pure life is eternaly all there is forever and ever, and the rebirth interludes "lives" are short
life is short when you look at how the human race has advanced so quickly in the last decades, when each life only lives for a few decades, until it it reborn.
it is natural evolution that we (humans) will evolve to live longer lives.

yes, in this realm and respect: life's too short because you have too many needs, exponential wantonness shortens the supply of time, space and object of desire
