I had a really bad fall at the beach once. After it healed enough to be scabby I kept putting it on(vitamin e) and kept it covered. It kept it soft. Took awhile to heal but I didn't end of with a scar. It definitely would have left a scar if I didn't do it.

Treat the cuts with Neosporin (or something similar) in the beginning, because it is supposed to help prevent scarring. After the cuts are healed, go to the drugstore and check out the first-aid section--there are a lot of creams/patches/etc. to reduce the appearance of scars.

Also--how badly did you cut yourself? If it's really deep, you may want to get it checked out to see if you need stitches (because if you do, that will definitely probably help with the scarring I would think).

Good luck!
