Looks like a mutation. Possibly due to overlay. Your casing layer shouldnt have that much white all over the surface. Try lowering the CO2 level more by fanning more. bluhoney

The casing these mutations formed on was overlayed. Not to mention my friend has been slackin a bit on fanning.

Is there anything he can do to get some of the shrooms to from right. There are alot of pins formin in the gap between the pan and the casing where there is a little space. I guess because there is not overlay on top of them.

What can I do?

There are a few ways to try. First, if you want to try and save the pin set on the side, then give the sides more access to light and more room to grow. You might need to transfer the whole casing to a larger tray, leaving alot of space between the casing and container sides. Or you can flip the entire casing upside down, and give it a few days to recover, and you will get a pinn set. Next you could deep scratch the surface by taking a sterile fork and raking through the overlayed casing layer. Lastly, you could do what my friend does and clean off the overlayed casing layer completely, and replace it with a new one. bluhoney
